    Take your wrenching seriously.

A starter tool kit is great way to get to work, but those hexes, cable cutters, and IPAs will only get you so far. Good tool kit

I've put it through the wringer

This kit has been good for me so far. It's got the majority of tools you need for bike maintenance. The overall quality of the tools is good. Everything comes in a slotted case so the tools are secure and suitable for travel. I really like the pocket wheel truing tool, it's a nifty piece of equipment and works well. The Rotor straightening tool will save you the cost of a rotor because you will probably bend a rotor at some point, even if it's just slight. The cassette tool and lock ring wrench are great quality and work well. The only issue I had is that I actually broke one of the hex wrenches. They are designed as 3 different sizes of hex key joined together in a triangle shape with a plastic handle. I was trying to unscrew some really stubborn pedals and the plastic handle broke, rendering my 6mm wrench useless. Granted, it was probably my fault for having the pedals too tight in the first place, but do keep in mind the handle is plastic.

Does this set have the necessary tools to removed a cassette? It seems like a chain whip is also needed.

Scott N, There is a cassette holding tool. It's the long tool at the top of the lower half of the case in the image. It actually works better than a conventional chain whip.

    Thanks Brock!
