Universal lighting material that starts your fire in any weather.

Ultimate Survival Technologies lives up to its name with the Wetfire Tinder. This tinder makes it easy for you to start fires with only a small pile of shavings whether you're camping on a windy hill, backpacking in a rainstorm, or trying to light your stove on a portaledge halfway up a climb.

This firestarter package comes with 12 individually wrapped, lightweight cubes that are safe, non-toxic, and easier to handle than conventional firestarting gels. They don't leave residue like petroleum-based firestarters so you can pack these in your backpack without having them foul up your clothes and other belongings. They burn up to 1300 degrees Fahrenheit but immediately cool down once you easily extinguish them. Best of all, not only are they waterproof and windproof, but they actually burn longer when wet and don't produce much smoke.

Great Fire starter

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I love this fire starter. It lights very easily. I put them in a wet cast iron pan and lit the wetfire with ease using a small ferro rod. I also wanted to test and see if would really light while floating in water, it does. The wetfire has a good flame and burn a long time using only a little bit of shavings. I will have this any time I'm in the backcountry.

Fantastic for river camping

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These light in any condition which is super nice when you're on the river and the only thing there is to use as fuel is wet drift wood... I always keep a pack of these in my dry box and backpack just in case!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Great product that works in any conditions. Light a fire with it and once it's going simply pull out of fire, smother it and you can reuse it! I had one cube light 4 fires!

This stuff is cool.

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This stuff is cool. You can crumble it on top of water and light it. Will light every time. I have found if you keep one it warm while winter camping they light faster with a smaller spark. I keep a few in all my packs and first aid kits.

Emergencys avoided

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

When you have these you won't ever have to worry about making a fire in any scenario. These things light up super fast!

Not yet life savers..

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

But why not bring a few along? They burn hot and long and make fire starting a lot easier when tinder conditions are inadequate. Even if they're not starting the fire that will save your life, they sure are nice to have.

They work

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I like to use these to light campfires when my friend has his back turned. He thinks I am an amazing fire starter. Maybe one day I will share this secret with him...

Certainly can't hurt to pack a couple

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Ultimate Survival Technologies and I have a spotted past, I simply do not trust their quality control. With that said I do endorse this product. For several years I've made pocket sized survival kits for those friends and family whom enjoy the outdoors, and for a year or so I've included a UST Wetfire tinder cube. They work best when cut open and the ignition source is introduced to the internal materials, rather this is do to oxygenation or some other factor I will not venture to guess. In my experience it is a long lasting fire source the can potentially burn even more intensely wet than dry. I have to date not had a tinder cube fail me, though their are many reports of this product not working. (enter again quality control) However the potential reward out weighs the risks. One should NEVER rely on one tinder or one ignition source. If you are knowledgeable and have three ignition sources and three to five tinders, along with the associated knowledge you will have a fire. Preparation is ultimately the bottom line both at home and in the field. This is a small light weight product that could save your life, theres no reason not to toss a couple in your kit.

Long burn time

I started a campfire with these the other night. I tried lighting it with a spark from a Swedish Fire Starter, but the spark wasn't hot enough to catch it on fire. I put a lit match to the Wetfire Tinder and it immediately caught fire and burn for a while. This stuff works great, just use a match or lighter.

These little bad boys are sweet!!!!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Okay for all you backpackers out you go!!! These are a must have for any trip.. They are super no weight at will not even notice them. I have been using magnesium for a long time.....I have had the same mag bar for like 6 years...but it burns so fast and you have to take the time to shave the bar...with this it burn and keeps on burning and is easy to use just open the package and shave you some off and lite it no mess no effort...just results!!

    Great starter .

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I have used these on a few backpacking trips . A couple weeks ago I went on a couple day trip. It had been raining solid for a couple days prior . These bad boys saved me some headache and lit my fire no problem.

    Always in my pack

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I always keep these in my pack. They are great to start a fire under damp/wet conditions. They are light weight and don't take up any space. Must have for any outdoors activities that a fire might be needed.

    good stuff good stuff

Lite weight, works great. Don't even have to use a whole cube. (I am not cheap) Wish I cold find some old fashion, waterproof, strike anywhere matches to go with them. We are so lucky to have a government that is so concerned about us are we not.
