A comfortable hydration vest for women.

Ultimate Direction designed its Ultra Vesta Running Hydration Vest specifically for women so you can run, trail run, hike, ice climb, or train comfortably with all the water you need. Two front collapsible pouches secure the included 10-ounce water bottles for immediate access while you're running, and the horizontal pocket at the back stores reservoirs (not included) as big as two liters when you need more water for longer runs in the heat. The BPA-free bottles feature a leakproof cap for your convenience. Ultimate Direction made the vest's back panel out of Cool Wick Air mesh to keep your back sweat-free, the shoulder straps out of Power Stretch mesh for stretchy breathability, and the back out of ripstop for durability.

The Ultra Vesta features two sternum straps, side adjustment straps, and both external and internal bungee straps to give you a snug fit that won't bounce around while you're running. Two large front storage pockets stow away your camera, phone, lip balm and wallet, and two zippered vertical pockets can store an extra layer or two. There are also loops for ice axes and trekking poles, when you trade in your running shoes for boots.

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I was a reluctant convert. I have a pack that I loved and I honestly hate the color purple. But I've run more than 400 miles in this vest (up a few 14ers, all over Rocky Mountain National Park, through the San Juans, the Dolomites, and The Rut 50K!). Once I tried it I couldn't bear to wear my beloved pack again. The vest is incredibly comfortable and lightweight, even when it's loaded up. I can carry enough water, food, and a couple layers for 4-6 hours or longer if there's water or other support.

I'm 5'10" and 140 pounds and the XS/S fits well. It does chafe a little on my shoulders when I'm wearing a tank top but not enough that I notice when I'm running. And definitely not enough that I'd go back to the pack!

Thankfully, the vest is well made so it's got lots of miles left.

Also a great pack for biking...

I've been biking with the Ultra Vesta lately and love how much lighter and more breathable it is than traditional bike packs. Plenty of room for my tools, snacks, and layers with all that stretch mesh. Easy to get into the front pockets with one hand while riding, too, if need be

Also a great pack for biking...

SIZING - I am 5'7" with a 32" chest. I tend to be a vest-overpacker so I have the M/L which gives a little more breathing room when it's fully loaded. The strapping system lets me snug it up for shorter runs, though, when I don't carry as much. No bounce AND I can still breath deep while wearing it? Awesome!

    So comfortable!

Such a well fitting, adjustable, versatile pack suited for shorter events and self supported long hauls. Tried this pack with and without bladder, love it both ways. Best thing: NO CHAFE even when worn without a crop top. Really happy with this vest and would highly recommend to others.
