Velcro Damages Shirts

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer
Size Bought:
S/M
Weight:
155

I've put about 100 miles in with his belt and while it is functional and lightweight my biggest complaint is that the velcro creates little pulls in your shirt around your belly button. I'm diligent about keeping it fastened appropriately, but my Patagonia shirts now have about 50 little pills and snags on them. I've gone back to my Nathan belt and UD vest. Also, I have a size 31 waist and ordered the S/M - it's a snug fit.
