Super warmth never looked this good.

Sometimes the weather outside looks more like what you'd expect to see on your Vail ski vacation than what you want to see on the city street. For those days, you'll be glad to have the super-stylish Uber Women's Spectra Insulated Parka. Necessitated by Uber's cold and wet Norwegian climate with technology taken from the sports industry, the Spectra is the ideal parka for the fashion-forward world traveler. With a design philosophy based on Scandinavian simplicity, Uber gave the Spectra clean lines for a modern, technical look that will stay in fashion regardless of trends. And Backcountry is the exclusive US retailer for Uber products, so you won't have a jacket twin everywhere you look.

The Spectra features a laminated membrane that is 100% waterproof while also remaining supremely breathable. PrimaLoft Sport insulation provides superior warmth without adding a ton of weight, and Regulator four-way stretch fabric allows for comfort and a full range of motion. The supremely soft luxury of the Spectra's satin lining feels smooth when you layer this over a dolman-sleeve top and slides easily over sweaters.

I got this jacket for my girlfriend. I immediately got huge brownie points. She loved it as soon as she opened it. She was looking for a winter coat with some shape, and not be swimming in a boxy long puffy coat. She loved the waist line and the length, it is perfect for covering your butt, yet it is not so long that it is bulky. The inside fabric is fantastically soft, and creates a cozy feel to go along with superior warmth. Overall, this is a really great jacket, that looks as good as it performs,

    IMPECCABLE, thoughtful, & delivers!

This was my first foray into Uber and I am now a devotee. All my other jackets are jealous. I seriously wonder why I would need any other. Several thoughtful details make this an incredibly versatile, enjoyable & completely comfortable coat.

First, it is quite warm and keeps me completely dry in sleet, snow and rain. The length is great, generously covering to mid-thigh. My inaugural walkabouts were in Eastern Europe in below freezing and freezing temps. I would sometimes add a down vest underneath, and that kept me toasty on the coldest days. It stops wind and water with ease.

Second, it is incredibly thoughtful in the number of pockets and pocket placement. I am a street photographer and like to walk about unencumbered with bags... and I had ample pockets to stash batteries, lens caps, maps, cash, phone, gloves, etc. without appearing bulky. Its tailoring is amazing, allowing ease of movement in arms and shoulders, while keeping an overall elegant profile. You can cinch in the waist as desired, so you have incredible warmth without bulk. Additionally, I appreciate the classic look that allows you to wear it for all kinds of occasions and feel just right. It also allows you to maintain a low profile, which can be strategic if you are traveling abroad and want to blend in.

The magnetic closure at the bottom of the zipper is a great touch, allowing flexibility and ease when you need it but also closing and keeping you warm when you are walking.

It is an excellent traveling coat, as it is light, easy to fold and pack, and has room to layer underneath if temps are frigid. One other nugget, since it is black, it hides any travel dirt that you may encounter, so you always appear fresh.

I cannot say enough about its overall wonderfulness. I adore it. And am looking forward to MORE winter so I can wear it more often!

    Super Jacket but.....

It is a jacket for women with narrow shoulders and short hands. It is an amazing jacket that I really wanted to keep and had to return. I am 5'6" 130lb with broad shoulders and long hands. I ordered medium. It fits perfectly along the torso except I could not lift my arms. Sadly the jacket/coat had to go back.

    nice jacket

Really classy jacket but runs narrow in the hip. I am a size 8-10 but had to return the M after trying on with jeans and a fleece underneath....the jacket was too tight all over, just not comfortable but looked really great. Sleek city look. I'll likely reorder in a large to see how that is. I also think it needs to be longer if it's going to be a waterproof thing. That's the main reason I wanted it. I have a Canada Goose that I love but it isn't waterproof. When it rains in NYC, it really rains, and this is a walking city. I needed an outside to 'walk in the rain' type coat with down gets freezing here and it isn't always snowing.

I miss clicked something and published my review unfinished. Here to continue:

1, This Uber Parka has better ability to resist strong wind than Fission SV.

2, It is warmer than Fission SV under -20C.

3, It kept me completely dry inside out after every snow storm that we've experienced almost everyday, while Alpha SV's surface got completely soaked. Don't get me wrong, Alpha SV will definitely keep you dry, it was only its surface material getting soaked. But the surface material of this Uber Parka won't even absorb a tiny drop of water! I never need to hang and dry it!!!

4, longer length means better protection and better warmth. I could sit on any wet surface without worrying about cold wet butt. (Of course I was wearing waterproof pants, so warmth of my butt is more of an issue here.)

5, more stylish than Fission SV.

Finally, it is equally packable, light weight, comfortable yet tough compared to Arcteryx products.

Oh, it dries very quickly after washing and looks completely new after too! No signs of wearing at all!!! I assume it can last for a long long time!

Iove love love this parka! I will definitely pay attention to this brand in a future!

Beyond all expectations! Best parka ever

I just returned from a 12 days trekking on snowy mountains of Tibetan Plateau. Knowing the weather wouldn't be pretty at above 5000m altitude and I am kind of person that always being cold, I took quite a few warm and tough clothes with me including a Arcteyx Alpha SV, a Fission SV and this parka. Believe or not, this parka is far superior than all Acrteryx!

Ananta, don't know how to reply to your question directly from the page, hope you can see this! I'll say this parka is wayyyyyy warmer and better windproof than Arceryx patera! If I found this earlier I won't buy patera.

Do you think this jacket will be warm enough for a trip to Norway and to Iceland in late Nov - early Dec? Or is the White Heat Down parka a better bet? I don't want to overheat!

Hey Niki - The White Heat Down Parka is 800 fill down insulation and will be significantly warmer than the Spectra which only has 80g PrimaLoft Sport synthetic insulation. The Spectra will be better suited for hiking when you need breathability to shed heat but the White Heat is the true winter jacket. Looks like you ordered both so I would be interested to hear your thoughts. Feel free to contact me directly with any additional questions.
