Versatile year-round weather protection and timeless fashion.

As a modern business traveler, you're up to date with the most modern science when it comes to your cell phone, computer, tablet, and other gadgets. Why, then, would you rely on old technology when it comes to your outerwear? Sport the Uber Men's Black Storm Interactive Coat, and balance sleek, timeless looks with ultimate waterproof warmth and function. Born out of Norway's ice cold winters, Uber's goal is to help you travel light, stay warm, and look sharp. The Black Storm is its flagship coat.

Featuring a laminated waterproof, breathable membrane, the Black Storm also brings ultra-warm, low-weight removable PrimaLoft One insulation to the table. Welded reinforcements and waterproof zippers ensure that you, as well as all of your techy gadgets, stay dry no matter the weather. The snapped hood easily detaches and reattaches, and the insulation removes via magnetized attachment points, making for a jacket that is extremely versatile in both looks and function and ready for year-round use. Backcountry is the exclusive US retailer for Uber products, so you know you won't see one covering every other suit-jacket out there.

    Excellent Jacket!!!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium

Fits true to size, I'm 6'0 170lbs (42"" chest) but wanted a slim fitted jacket warm so I ordered a Medium. Fits great with either sweaters or shirts underneath. If you intend to wear a suit jacket, you should order a Large. The material and workmanship of the jacket are top quality. I love this jacket. Worn in Seattle's wettest conditions and also in very cold winter weather. Its a very versatile jacket. Highly recommend.

Loved the features, not the fit

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Large

Writing this review to mostly share my thoughts on the fit. I am 6'2" around 185lbs and a fairly trim build. I wear slim fit shirts, typically a 40L suit jacket, and like things to have a tailored look.

The quality and the technical aspects on this coat are great, but the fit was not for me. Sleeve length was perfect and it fit well for me in the chest and shoulders. The only issue for me was the fact it was not tailored at all. It pretty much goes straight down from the arm pits to the hem with no tapering.

Returned it, because for that price I want the perfect coat, but if your style or build is different than mine, you may love it

The ultimate casual and business coat

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

    • Size Bought: XL

This jacket has a great fit, long enough in nasty weather, and lots of options with lining/hood to handle any weather/climate. Great ventilation and it works well everywhere. I have globe-trotted with this jacket and it does the job anywhere....for business or pleasure travel.

    Great coat, all-weather, all-purpose

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I live close to the Alps and am absolutely happy with my Black Storm coat. It tends to get way below zero over winter and in spring the temperatures go up and down frequently. With the inner insulation easily removed i always feel dressed for the weather. The coat is extremely light and therfore doesn`t really feel like a" wearing" a coat, it`s more like a second skin but keeps you amazingly warm in freezing conditions. Also it looks smart, you can easily wear it over your suit for business occasions but it`s also not too dressy for private/outdoor activities. All in all i`m very impressed with the quality of the coat, it`s a true allrounder and Im sure will serve me for many years to come.

    Amazing Men's Long Parka

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Large

I got the Black Storm Parka from Uber for Christmas this year and have been quite impressed with the high quality fit and finish from this emerging Norwegian brand. (Think of Arcteryx-like quality) The fit is excellent for me - I am 6'2" 185 and the large is excellent. I was looking for a longer, parka length insulated coat I could wear traveling to various meetings in the US and Europe - it had to keep me warm and dry and be adaptable to whatever winter weather I encountered, and the Black Storm Jacket has been the right tool for the job. I really like the removable insulated liner - when it's raining but not too cold, I just remove the liner and it is a full-waterproof raincoat. With the liner in, this jacket will keep you warm even if the temps drop below zero F - with the liner removed, I plan on wearing this jacket throughout the warmer months as a rain jacket, when the temps are in the 50s and 60s.

    Unanswered Question

Is the removable liner/insulation also wearable? In other words, is this coat considered 3 in 1?

And, I see no mention about the cuffs. Are the cuffs adjustable with hook and loop, etc?

    Thank you.

Is this jacket *really* worth 800?
I only ask this because it looks like is a great jacket but for 800 I can't bring myself to buy this...

Richard, I would say it is worth the $800.00 as they dont have anything quite like it out on the market. You could get a jacket that has the same insulation but, not as long. A jacket that is as long but, inferior insulation. After you add in the finer features like a Magnetic attachment method for the inner insulation you get a pretty expensive but, unique offering.
