Black Bib Short

The Twin Six Black Bib Shorts' eight anatomically-cut panels allow it to provide optimum next-to-skin contact without inhibiting muscle movement. This permits the Black Bib Shorts' soft micro-denier blend to provide both the compressive and wicking properties that the knit is designed for.

The result is a precisely fitting bottom that moves with you, not against you, while also preventing the onslaught of fatigue. Twin Six also uses a soft chamois that dampens and cushions for long-ride comfort. And with its perforated construction, the chamois also ensures air flow, which will evaporate moisture in order to keep you dry.

Twin Six applied the same principle to the mesh uppers. These are designed to transport perspiration to an outer layer, while encouraging cooling air to flow over your skin. Finishing the Black Bib Shorts are wide elastic leg grippers that prevent migration while pedaling.

  • Comfort and support that won't break the bank
  • Micro-knit Lycra sits comfortably against your skin
  • 8-panel construction for an optimal on-bike fit
  • Soft, seamless chamois prevents chafing or irritation
  • Mesh bib upper provides cooling airflow
  • Wide elastic leg band with silicone gripper to secure the fit
  • Stealth black color pairs well with any jersey

Yes, I like the Assos bibs I got on deep discount more than these, but hardly 3x more, which is about the price difference. The chamois fits fine but isn't super-thick. Maybe over a century I'd like more pad, no problems here in 50-mile rides. I feel that difference when I put them on but not enough to cross my mind after a few minutes.

Worst bibs

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I bought these over 8 months ago, and used them in my rotation of bibs, so maybe twice a week or so over that timeframe. And without question, they are the worst bibs I have ever used. The chamois is worthless, it almost seems like it does the opposite of the job it is intended to do, and intentionally hurts your taint. Once I realized the problem on my long rides were these bibs, I stopped using them for anything over an hour. Over the last month, the elastic in the panels has started to deteriorate, forming white patches that look kind of like salt stains. The straps are too thin and the thread is strangely rough, which is quite unpleasant on the shoulders. I have also had to re-sew the chamois to the bibs, since the thread came off on both sides. These are branded Twin Six, but Voler makes all their clothing. Twin Six just does the "art", so keep that in mind if you see team kit made by Voler with their terrible build quality, terrible materials, and terrible club fits. I appreciate that it's made in the US, but the quality of these bibs doesn't say anything good about American craftsmanship. The cheapest Pearl Izumi or Santini bibs will be more comfortable and last longer than these.
