Great shoe

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I had an old pair of Tubbs that I found to be less desirable, the binding system on them wouldn't stay tight on steep ascent. However, this new design is rad. I love the ease of getting in and out of them, and feel like they hold tight and secure. The weight and balance of breaking trail in deep snow felt great too. All in all, the Tubb Frontiers are a great snowshoe and I highly recommend to anyone that's looking for something for casual to more intense purposes. I've used these a couple of times now, once to hike 6 miles into a Yurt w/ a fairly heavy pack, and another to summit a moderate peak with only a snowboard on my back. They held up great in both scenarios.

First Real Snowshoes

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

The Tubbs Frontier is exactly what I was looking to buy for my first pair of snowshoes. Easy of use, durability and lightweight design are the selling points but i was most impressed when I actually got these bad boys on some snow. Great float in snow under a foot and decent in the deeper stuff. Slight crampon design grabs for the steeper terrain but be careful coming down (no matter what snowshoe you are wearing). Paired up with the Black Diamond Trail Pro Trekking poles makes for a great time stompin around the foothills and enjoying the wintery abyss at a leisurely pace!

Simple but effective

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Good basic light weight snow shoe.bindings are easy to use once you adjust them.good for trail walking and moderate hills.I got the 25 " and weigh 170.

Great First Snowshoe

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

Once I figured out how to strap the snowshoes on (ok, user error accounts for most problems with products), they were extremely easy to use. Lightweight, strong and durable, I was able to go up a good grade in moderately deep snow fairly easily.

Tubbs Frontier Snowshoe

An incredible value for trail blazers and families alike, the Frontier now features the new 180 EZ binding for ultimate ease-of-use and comfort. The Frontier's lightweight and gender-specific design gives you the most efficient stride for packed trails while the Recreational crampon system gives you the bit you need for gentle, rolling terrain.
