There's no reason to slog uphill in sweat when the mid-day sun roasts your local trails in a blistering wave of unbearable heat. Drastically increase your riding comfort when the mercury soars near the triple-digit mark with the Troy Lee Designs Men's Skyline Air Short. One of the most breathable shorts in Troy Lee's line, the Skyline Air Short lives up to its reputation with numerous perforations that channel cool air with every pedal stroke. Its relaxed fit provides ample room for everyday trail rides, with four-way stretch fabrication conforming to your every move.
It's fabricated with tough, yet airy-light polyester fabric with a soft hand feel. This means you'll stay nice and cool without giving up long-term durability after regular thrashings on the trail. The included Air 2.0 liner provides the breathable padding you need to crank out serious miles on the trail without irritation slowing you down. - Q & A
Runs a little large
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
Great short for hot rides! The pockets are great and zippered which helps hold my phone. And large enough to even hold a phone. The size does run a little large but not so large that it's a problem.
Size Runs Larger vs Last Years Version!
Let me start out by saying these are great vented shorts. I have worn TLD products for over a decade, and the functionality and quality are genuinely good, although...nothing was advertised about this years version being longer and slightly looser fitting than last years. Last year's length was above my knee cap when standing, and know they cover the entire knee. If you don't wear knee pads this can be annoying when your knee gets caught in the leg when pedaling. I am 5'11 and typically weigh between 170-175lbs., wear a 34 waist. Last years versions short was more of a fitted short. These are baggy/loose fitting and the waist cinch tabs on the side had to be pulled all the way forward just to keep them up. TLD no communication and no quality control on sizing for the Skyline this year. I'm now stuck with the shorts as they came in and I checked the size/label and packed them. I had to wear something, so shame on me this time. Make sure you check sizing as they run bigger this year.
The Best shorts for pedaling
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
I have finally found the perfect shorts to pedal in. Yes, they're mens shorts, but I have yet to find a womens bike short that work as well as these when the temps start heating up and I don't want to just wear spandex. Nice big pockets and lots of stretch. They are just mesh so wear a chamois!
- Height: 5'10"
- Weight: 175lbs
These shorts are great for those mid-summer rides. No complaints thus far.
