Excellent bit of kit for relieving back pain
I will get costocondritis symptoms if I happen to have a crash on my mountain bike, or something similar. This little pair of balls (I have the latest version) helped massively to loosen up the muscles in my back before I went for a session with the osteopath and make it more likely that he could get a 'movement/release' and get me back to 'straight'.

Locking space adjustment
I need a smaller space between the balls. How do I set the space & keep it locked til I change it?

Gets the tough spots
I use this ball to roll along the sides of my spine. Both when it is retracted and expanded. It gets the soft tissue areas along the spine. It does both sides at the same time because of the design. It is also good to lay on the hips and do some myofascial release.

MB2 Roller
I purchased the MB2 for my girlfriend. I have an older version of the massage balls that come inside of a cloth sack instead of the dual balls connected by an axle. In my opinion the older version is far superior than the new. First, the foamy texture of the new balls causes them to stick to clothing much more than the cloth covered ones. Very annoying. Second, the massage balls in the cloth pouch design allows me to use both balls at one time AND allows me to take one (or both) balls out of the pouch and use them singularly. Excellent for getting to the muscles in my scapula. The new design forced me to purchase a roller and a single massage ball to get the same effect. The old design was better and more efficient.

Hits the Spot literally
I have an area of my upper back that get very tense up towards the end of marathons, Spartan Supers, Spartan Beast, and other endurance events. I use to have 7% scoliosis but through chiropractic care it has been corrected, but in that area I have a rib that comes out of place as well. This tool allow room for the spine and pressure right where in need it to self adjust. Something about having pressure on both sides of the spine helps alot.

Is this more on the foam-y side or firm? I own the Universal Massage Roller so I am wondering if this is more, less, or about the same firmness.

I thought that there are different settings for this product, that I can shorten the length of the bar in between the two balls. I cannot figure out how to shorten the bar and lock it into place.
