Why We Like The Sport Climbing Package

When we want to step up our game by leading routes, we equip ourselves with Trango's Sport Climbing Package, which includes all the quickdraws, carabiners, and slings we need. Each Phase Quickdraw features two of Trango's lightest carabiners, now designed with a large rope bearing surface for longevity, a wire gate for easy clipping, and a retainer to stabilize the rope end. The superlight React Screwlock Carabiners feature snag-free keylock noses and the traditional, secure screwlock gate. Pair these carabiners with both Low Bulk Slings for a secure anchor once you make it up your first route.

Best starter kit out there!

Familiarity:: I've put it through the wringer

I also got this as my starter outdoor lead kit and it was honestly perfect! The phase QDs are light, have a smooth gate action and the blue bottom biner is easy to identify. The slings and lockers can be used to make TR anchors with a sliding X, or they can be used as a poor-mans personal anchor system. I do prefer the BD lockers that I've since purchased over my Trango ones, but these are still great quality and you can never have too many locking biners! I would say that eventually, you are going to want to buy more QDs, 10 is good for starting but it restricts you from doing longer climbs which are often the ones I like the best.
