Quality USA made

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

Had this backpack for over 6 months now. Taken it to work with me almost everyday (trade work) and traveled in several different countries with it. I'm nery happy with how this backpack has stood up to the abuse I put it through and it holds everything I could need for long trips. A light change of cloths, a small coat, a dslr camera, pockets for my chargers, headphones, etc. Was so satisfied that I recently bought the classic duffel to see how that one is.

Don't buy the X-Pac version!

I apologize in advance for lowering this bag's aggregate score; I've used the Cordura version daily for almost a year and it's been mostly great. The materials and build quality are top-knotch, it's lightweight, weather-resistant, and comfortable; and I appreciate that it's not a labyrinth of unnecessary organization. It's got plenty of room for carrying a laptop and whatever else you might need on a daily basis and it's big enough to double as a weekend bag if you pack light. Its weakness lies in the design of the straps: they have minimal grip and are shaped in a way that further increases the chance they'll slide off your shoulders. This is annoying, and it's more annoying still that there's no sternum strap to correct the problem. Anyway, the Cordura version of the bag is mostly good, so I decided to check out the X-Pac edition since I wanted something less colorful for office use. That was a mistake: the X-Pac material is noisy, crinkly, and so thin that the zipper guards CONSTANTLY get stuck in the path of the zipper, making the bag pretty much unusable. Seriously, I've owned a lot of backpacks and not one has ever had such an obvious design flaw. Please learn from my mistake and avoid the X-Pac version at all costs: it fails at one of a backpack's most critical tasks: opening and closing reliably.

Perfect Work Backpack

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Perfect work backpack - has a laptop sleeve and some organizational sleeves for pens, a note pad, etc! Decently sizable so i can carry a few other things and lunch as well. Looks great too - bought it in the burnt orange color which surprisingly goes with alot of things!

Carries What I Need

I use this for my M-F 9-5 grind, and it fits my computer, notebooks, snacks, and a layer. Looks great and has held up nicely so far.

oh dear

Bought this for an upcoming trip as a carry on for some camera gear among other things but sadly it will be going back. I'm a rather tall person at 6'1'' but this hit at an awkward spot on my low back/upper hip and would become an annoyance after more than an hour. The quality of the fabric is wonderful though, but the front leather patch was cut very poorly. Considering this is American made I would have expected more attention to detail as that's their whole thing. Not enough pockets, not enough space and awkwardly tall. Mind you, this would be a great bag for a lot of people but just sadly didn't fit the bill I was looking for.

Topo Designs Daypack

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Just picked one of these up in Black. Love the design and build quality. I now own a few things from Topo designs and look froward to picking up some more stuff from them. My one complaint is, if you have a laptop in the laptop sleeve, there is not much space for anything else within the internal organization pockets.

Does this backpack include a slot for water bottles either inside or on the exterior?
