When's the last time you inflated a mountain bike tire over 100psi? In the world of mountain bikes these days, we rarely see pressures exceeding 40psi, and therefore 90 percent of pumps on the market are overbuilt to redundancy in favor of skinny road tires. That's not the case for Topeak's Joe Blow Mountain Floor Pump.
It tops out at 75psi. That means it's analog gauge is more accurate in the ranges mountain bikers use. Also, the large, steel barrel is designed to deliver more volume to quickly inflate those knobby balloons. The TwinHead, double-sided valve readily works with both Presta and Schrader valves and an extra-long hose helps keep inflation struggle free.
Topeak's Joe Blow Mountain Floor Pump has a blead valve to dial in the exact pressure you're looking for, and comes in one color; Black.

Not the Best Pump Out There
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Topeak usually makes some killer gear, but I wasn't too stoked on this pump.
Although this pump does the job, for the price, it's not the best one I'd recommend. The twin head is a nice touch, but the PSI maxing out at 75 makes it tough to get anywhere above 25-30 PSI without breaking a sweat.
Check out the Blackburn Airtower or the Lezyne pumps. Feel free to reach out and I can set you up on the best pump for your bike and whatever budget you are working with.
A little rough!
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
While this does push more air in to your tire I find that the handle hurts my sensitive girly hands and is hard to push. I don’t love the valve either… it’s hard to flip the lock lever over. The read out pressure gauge is small and far away…. I find myself bending down to see where it is. Kind of frustrating. Even though this pump does have its setbacks for the price I will keep it and use it as long as it lasts.
Gauge is great for mtbs valve adapter ok
Gauge is great for mtbs very easy to read. Pump easily fills my 29er tires. pump feels like it is good quality. Valve adapter is not thread on but friction and can be a pain to get off.
Is this the newest model from Topeak that works well with fat bike tires (e.g., can register low PSI between 1-10)? Or is this "last year's model?" It's hard to tell but the image of the pressure gauge does not appear to match the Joe Blow Mountain pump on Topeak's website. Thanks.
This pump will work perfectly and will give an accurate reading at extremely low PSI. Although the outer portion of the gauge doesn't show the marking of the one listed on their site, the gauge does cover the same range. Please let us know if you have any other questions.
