- Q & A
Fantastic shirt, no shrinkage
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
- Fit: True to size
- Size Bought: Large
- Height: 5'11"
- Weight: 162lbs
My husband has dry, sensitive skin and loves the fabric. He wears these shirts to work all the time. They look great right out of the dryer. And no, they have not shrunk at all (dried on delicate setting). He has a 16.5, 33-34 dress shirt size and takes a large. Please keep making these in long sleeves, and add more colors, including solids! Navy would be terrific!
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
This shirt shrinks to about half of its original size after the first time you wash it, even if you wash it in cold water and only air dry.

Didn't work out
The shirt was nice, but the fit didn't quite work out. It was a bit too small. Other than that the quality was good.
Very nice quality, well manufactured garment with nice quality fabric. Cut large sorta like Patagonoia shirts. I'm 6 tall 195 lbs and typically buy XL but This shirt fits nice as a a,large.
Prelude to a Dinner Party
A bit of wabi-sabi for a world gone plaid crazy, the 100% organic cotton space-dyed yarns on the Smythy shirt dart through the weave in unprogrammable, unpredictable ways, creating a perfectly imperfect handcrafted textile effect. Double button cuffs, button chest pockets with an engineer-worthy pen slot and a split back yoke with box pleat.
Trying to figure out sizing. One review...
Trying to figure out sizing. One review says runs large. Measurements don't sound like it...but they never do I guess. I'm 6', 162lbs, 33" waist, 35" arm. Larges are often way baggy, but mediums are usually tight in the shoulders and short in the sleeves. M or L for this shirt? Anyone know?
I can see that you are a little between sizes. Overall I would go with a Medium. This shirt is a relaxed fit and will be penty long for you in that size.
