What about getting it?
The extra layer of rain protection is nice….. However when you go to get inside the tent while it’s raining nothing is covering the doorway from above and the rain comes in. The design could be much better to help prevent that.

Leaks!!

This thing leaks bad. Everywhere they stiched in a zipper leaks really bad. They didn't seal the seems. So there are two vents with zippers and the side of the tent that opens opposite of the ladder has a zipper door opening that leaks a bunch of water. Not just a drip or two but a lot. I can't believe fot $300 they can't make a waterproof cover. We got pretty wet on our first trip out with the new cover. I wouldn't recommend it.

Tepui Weatherhood great with a bit of seam sealer
The weatherhood is a necessary add-on unless you’re never going to be in the rain. It’s awesome except for a lack of seam seal tape around the small vent flap on each door (leaks a steady drip unless sealed), and around each zippered door. The rest of the seams are nicely taped. (Just finished sealing the offending seams with liquid seam sealer, should do the trick.)

110% WORTH THE INVESTMENT
For some reason it will not allow me to review cover for the Kukenam 3. We added this to our tent set up for winter camping. We are in Atlantic Canada so sometimes storms come out of no where and you have to be prepared! Not once have we been let down by our Tepui gear even during an ice storm
