Helium Platform XT 1 Bike Rack

Easy to break

This rack has broken twice on me now where the swing arm just snaps. It's made of cheap plastic as opposed to the base of the rack which is metal. The part holding the tires is far to easy to break.

Very satisfied

Satisfied with my purchase. Easy to install, solid construction, the locking systems work very well, and my bike remains solidly in place during travel on all types of roads. I would purchase again.

Very easy to use

The rack required minimal assembly. Assembly was not hard but directions were vague. The 2 pieces that need to be installed each have a pilot pin that goes into a pilot hole.The 2 pieces are not identical. One of the holes didn’t line up perfectly but did go in. The only real possible issue I’ve had is the handle for folding the rack up and down. I installed the rack on my vehicle for the first time with the rack folded up and went to pick up my bike from the bike shop. I was having trouble getting the rack to fold down when I realized the handle had come off and fallen down into the rack frame. I snapped the handle back in place and it has been fine for the past 2 weeks. I remove the rack when not in use and installing and removing is very easy. I only gave 4 stars because of the possible handle issue but I am very happy with the rack and would buy it again assuming the handle issue was a fluke.

Folded down while driving!

I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Had to return due to rack would fold down to height allowing back hatch to open while driving! Scared me since I thought I lost it and the bike for a second. Will update when new rack comes. Disappointing since all I've read Thule is a really good brand and this is my first Thule purchase.

Great for E-bike!

Like many e-bikes, mine is heavy. This bike carrier involves minimum lifting to place on bike carrier. One key lock system is also a nice feature.

Worry free transport for your bike

I bought this rack so I could take my bike on a roadtrip to AZ. It is very easy to assemble. Absolute breeze to install on the car. So easy to secure bike. All easily a one person job. We travelled 8000km through rain, wind and 45C heat and the bike was completely secure and caused no stress. Also loved that it easily folds down out of the way and tight against car when not in use. Could not be more impressed!

Light and easy to use

So far we love this rack. Initial assembly was easy and the hitch attachment system is rigid. It is light.and easy for my wife to use. Quick to put bike on and holds it well. Love the integrated anti theft cable. Time will tell how it holds up under constant use, but based on previous Thule products used, I am confident we will get many years of use out of this product

Great design and easy to use!

The Thule Helium 1 is very well-designed for simplicity and ease of use. It includes a key to "lock" the entire bicycle carrier to the car hitch. It also has a built-in bicycle lock (which I wish was a little longer). I have a low step women's bicycle, and it took me a while to find the Thule Helium 1, which accommodates my bicycle extremely well. This carrier works very well for men's and women's bicycles as it doesn't touch the bicycle frame/paint.
