Your baby can experience the thrilling experience of bicycling around town without having to pedal in Thule's RideAlong Mini Child Bike Seat. This bike seat features a universal quick release bracket that attaches and detaches behind the handlebars in seconds. There's a safety indicator that lets you know when you attach the seat correctly, and Thule's One-Key System locks the seat to your bike so nobody takes off with it. The foot rests adjust for ever-growing wee ones, and the padding is reversible, removable, and water-resistant for protection against weather, spills, and stains.

Thule makes great bike products... this mini ridealong is no exception. Purchased for 9 month old daughter and have been riding on it almost daily for the past month. She loves it. Seeing the road and being able to hold dad's arms makes the ride more fun, comfortable, and less intimidating for child and parent.
Attaching this to the bike is super simple. It took a few minutes and has been 100% secure. The seat adjusts quickly, and fits a wide range and children.
The ridealong attaches to the steerer tube on the front fork, between the headset and the stem. It requires an 1" to 1 1/2" or so on space, so if your you don't have any spacers below your stem, this may not have enough room. It will not fit on my trail bike, but my less aggressive fit tire bike has just enough room.
I ride mellow single track trails without any concern. I would not be comfortable taking this on more technical trails. Not because of the quality or durability of the ridealong, but the risk of me falling and dropping the bike.
I have a friend who rides fairly technical single track with his 2 year old in this same product, and they have a blast.

    Perfect for your Little One!

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I bought this as a gift for my brother and his daughter. They absolutely LOVE it! Perfect for riding around town and joy rides around the neighborhood. Just make sure to pay attention to your child's weight as there are two models one for smaller children and one for larger.

    Can Be A Weird Fit

I love this little seat, but it fits some bikes all wrong. I've got a Surly Long Haul Trucker and I couldn't get it to work with that bike. It put the seat up in my cheast and I was unable to step off the seat and touch the ground when stopped. I leterally had to get off my bike at stop lights. I ended up getting the rear bike seat instead and that works much better with my LHT. I did however end up putting it on my GF's bike which is a cruiser and it works just fine. Moves around a little, but it nothing to worry about.

I purchased this recently and noticed the 'not intended for carbon fiber stems' warning on the box. But, based on the instructions, it appears the mount connects to the fork steer tube, not the stem. So, my question is, can this be mounted on a carbon fiber fork?
