Why We Like The Prolite Apex Sleeping Pad
In its second generation, the Therm-a-Rest Prolite Apex Sleeping Pad boasts an unrivaled warmth-to-weight ratio for our year-round backcountry adventures. Its unique, two-inch StrataCore construction uses a continuous layer of foam between alternating ridges of foam and air to claim the best warmth-to-weight ratio of any self-inflating mattress currently on the market. Plus, the pad compacts down smaller than a paper towel roll making it the ideal companion for a comfortable sleep on our fast and light missions on the trails.

Deflated during first trip
Not sure why my review was removed. I had to add it again. Apologies. I went on a camping trip last fall. It was the first time I used the pad. I filled the pad properly and made sure the vent was in locking position to not let air escape. At first it was great, until I woke up in the middle of the first night with the pad deflated. I had to turn the valve to blow more air into it. It should not have deflated after the first use. I wish I would’ve purchased the NeoAir Top Luxe pad instead. I’m just extremely disappointed in the product. I have not used it since that night.

Pro lite
Bought this pad as my old pad was no longer good for 3 season camping the pad is excellent although a little on the heavy side but expected for this size of pad the pad came with a compression bag but sadly not with a pump sack or repair kit which was very disappointing so will have to fork more cash out for these as although it is a self inflating pad it dose need a few more breaths to make it comfortable hopfuly thermarest will include a stuff/pump sack with this product in the future

So far great sleeping pad
This is very comfortable, warm, quite sleeping pad. I was warm in 30F. Easy to inflate and pack it back. Great balance between size and the comfort.

very disappointed
After a few months of using the mattress for occasional hikes, I had the very unpleasant surprise of finding myself unable to sleep. For the price of this material it would be good not to see our plans ruined. The inner cells of the mattress have disintegrated and a huge bubble has formed at head level. No more air in the rest of the unusable mattress.

Very durable and warm
Bought this pad a few years ago. Used it on a few thru hikes above the polar circle, I’m really satisfied. It is a little bit bulkier, but when you are hiking in sub zero temperatures in the remote wildernis you need a pad you can rely on! I recommend

Size discrepancy.
The listed packed metric sizes seem to be wrong. Could you please update so they are correct?

wont self inflate anymore
I bought this product 6 months ago been using it for a while now. After 2 months the self-inflating wouldn't work anymore. Witch I'm really disappointed of because its now winter camping and my inflating bag isn't compatible ether. Still a great and comfortable matress.

A terrible experience with Therm-a-Rest ProLite Apex.
I want to express my disappointment in Therm-a-Rest brand. Before a trip to the Caucasus, I bought ProLite Apex mats. And here’s what happened: This is such a «wonderful» mat that at some point I’ve got an extra "cushion" because the adhesive layers have peeled off inside the mat. That little "cushion" turned into a big bubble the next day! As a result, the mat turns into one big bubble. The funny thing is that when you lie down with your body on the mat, all the air moves into this bubble. The mat becomes thin under your body, and the compressed air in the bubble turns it into a «hard stone». So this bubble cannot serve as a pillow in any way - it is impossible to sleep. Two days later, the same problem occurred with the second mat. Now it looks like a pattern! Dear engineers and managers of Therm-a-Rest how can you answer this issue and how do you compensate me for moral and material losses?
