I can’t believe such a high R value for something so light. It is a bit on the noisy side, but as with everything in life, sometimes there are trade-offs. For cold-weather backpacking, this is a phenomenal pad. And it is certainly a very good pad for other seasons as well.

Narrow and noisy

The good: lightweight, packs down small. The bad: expensive, extremely noisy, expect to wake up everyone in the tent when you roll over, narrow. I would not recommend

FYI, my experience has been very different. I haven't found it to be noisy at all. I suppose "too narrow" is defined by how wide you are and how much you move around when you sleep. I am 6' / 195# and a stomach sleeper and haven't had any issues. Not doubting David D's experience, just offering that mine has been different and overall, much more positive. I have many backcountry nights on this (size Long) pad and have found it to be outstanding. Hope this helps with your decision!

Is this the version with the new winglock valve, or the older version?
