Changed design disappointing.
I gave this bag a full five-star review. I used it for many years, and it just needed replaced. So I bought another one. Previous design had a smooth surface. New design has ridges on the surface, and I can feel them, so I need a pad for the pad. Doesn’t make sense. Why the change? It wasn’t for loyal users. Poor redesign. I am disappointed with the change from a wonderful pad to new design.

Wonderful product. Deserves 5 stars really but I had to deduct one because like other reviewers said, the inflation bag does not attach at all to the valve. And if I wanted to force it I was afraid it would tear the fabric, it was that difficult and I never forced it. I just added a few extra puffs of air from my lungs. And I also let it inflate on it's own for about an hour prior to adding extra air. I love the way the valve works. Fantastic product.

Camp and comfort
I have owned this pad for 5 years or so. Use it at least 2 times a year and just this year took it out on a ruck into the woods on a -15°F overnight. Honestly I'm incredibly impressed. I'm 6'2" 200lbs and I have spondylothesis of my L1 among other issues in my spine that cause me to toss and turn quit a bit. This pad delivers the support you need and the space for me to adjust my body without sliding off. While sleeping in the cold I never once noticed any coldness from my pad. With it in the bag and strapped to my pack, this pad made it through the brush and thicket. Although my bag did suffer a hole here or there, probably due to thorns, my pad was in touched. I couldnt be happier with my purchase as I am using it now while I type this in replacement of my current bed until my new mattress is delivered.

Very Comfortable, hard to connect the inflation bag
This is an exceptionally comfortable pad. It’s thick enough to provide a wide range of adjustments so you can dial it into your preferred firmness. The pad is quiet when moving around on it, and makes a great base camp/ car camping pad. It seems to be pretty durable for the weight, and well constructed. My one complaint with this pad is the connection between the inflation sack (included), and the valve on the pad. It takes a bit of fighting to get it connected, and I am worried that either the valve is going to break, or I am going to poke a hole in the material during the connection process. This may improve with wear, and currently, it’s a pain to make work. Overall a very good product.

Pump sack connection
Wish I'd paid attention to the pump sack complaints. My pad is in the shop, attaching and removing the sack is a nightmare. The pad valve pulled out after 5-6 uses. The pad is as comfortable as you'll find. For the cost of this thing you could put something with threads or more pliable plastic. Most campers are armchair engineers but when it comes to sleep I want to sleep. Not jack with 'high quality' design issues.

Awesome
This thing is awesome. Luxurious sleeping on the ground. There’s no Basecamp mattress comparable.

I think you folks could
I think you folks could come up with a better inflation valve fitting. Stuff sack fitting is cumbersome. I mickey moused a fitting so I may use a bike inflation pump. These mattresses are to my mind costly enough you could devise a better valve fitting. The mattress does not inflate itself without assistance with compressed air. Breath air puts moisture inside which may over time cause mildew. Mattress is comfortable, nice job there. Quick shipping and perfect construction are appreciated. The inflation/stuff sack interface could be improved. Nice to see something made in USA. Best Wishes. Glen

XS person vs XXL MondoKing™ 3D
As comfortable as home. As a 107lb older woman, the XXL is perfect for comfy car camping, and could make a great guest bed. Rolling it back up for its transport bag is a bit of a wrestling match. My solution: After sealing the "air in" valve, and opening the "air out" valve, roll it up twice. First time get most air out, then unroll, and and second time finishes the job. For a small person, though, be prepared to put all your weight on it, and some muscle too. Literally sit on it while rolling. Awkward but it works, and I'm glad to have this nice pad. The one-way valve system is a key feature and allows re-rolling without losing progress. NOTE: I don't recommend for really chilly (freezing) nights if you're small, as it takes a long time to warm the large pad up. A thin insulating layer between you and pad may help.

Deluxe Car Camper
Purchased this pad for sleeping in the bed of my truck. It’s heavy and durable enough to get thrown in with a bunch of other equipment. It doesn’t pack down particularly small, but easily small enough for the trunk of a car or back of an extra cab truck. The storage bag which also doubles as an inflation sack is a really great feature; just let it self-inflate and then add 3-4 sacks of air and it’s ready to go. The surface of the pad has a soft chamois feel to it, not like a sticky backpacking pad. Overall, great product for car camping if you have the space to bring it along.
