Bringing a full family for a camping trip is a lot easier with The North Face Wawona Tent. It's a massive 6-person tent that's large enough to stand in, making it easy for us to wrestle children into sleeping bags or play games while it rains. The rain fly is completely reliable in wet weather, and the mesh walls let the summer breeze in when the clouds breakaway.

Thoughtful in most every aspect. There is adequate room for 4 adults?.6 is tight and works best if some are kids. Love the large vestibule for gear storage out of the elements! North Face could have done SO MUCH MORE with inside storage flaps/pockets?that?s my only complaint. Not rainy weather tested?.

Amazing tent
I bought this for family/backyard camping. It is so much more than that. I?m in the tent now and the weather came in. Big Midwest thunderstorm. I hear it, but no water. This tent is amazing!

Materials seem very durable and modern/lightweight. It packs down nice and small. I like the bag it comes in. Some reviewers complain about the bag but I would heartily disagree. It's smaller than my friends REI Kingdom all packed up. Warmth isn't an issue where we live (Hawaii). Maybe it would be in colder climates? Borrowed a friends REI Kingdom 6. I think I like the Wawona more. It is simpler and has the nice big vestibule. I haven't put it up in big winds but I would assume any big 6 person tent would be a pain in the butt in the wind. I was reading the many reviews on REI and honestly most of the qualms seem a little silly complaining about its wind performance, lightweight materials feeling not durable ( I think they feel durable? Maybe Im just a dumb millennial), and no there no rear vestibule which I dont think is a problem as some reviewers state. They could just get another tent that has a rear vestibule? I was looking at some other models. ended up buying this because it looked more simple and I wanted the vestibule for random rains... and the price was a little less. I haven't seen any complaints about bent poles. Seems like lots of REI equivalents complain about that. Not sure if that is factual in real life but just reading interwebz reviews... NEMO tent looks cool but this was cheaper and less complex looking. Cheaper alternatives like the Costco huge tents etc were considered but I am happy I just pulled the trigger on this quality feeling tent that fits my family of four nicely. I highly recommend doing the "just click and buy this one and go enjoy yourself" rather than researching these tents forever like I did. :)

Tent is great! Tent bag is OK

Very happy with the updated version of this tent which now includes the typical two-layer tent with mesh-based fabric and then a rain fly instead of just one in the previous version. The tent itself is very well made, fabric is very durable as well as the poles. The rain fly was a little tricky to put up but I was able to stumble through putting it up by myself. I wouldn't suggest winging it as trying to put this up in the dark for the first time could be be difficult. This tent withstood a Texas rainstorm for two nights and the inside was still bone dry. The integrated vestibule is very big and can double as a shelter just to keep out of the rain. NOT 5 STARS?! - Downside to this tent is 1) Tent Bag is a duffle with a wide lid that cinches. I am not a big fan of the bag. The tent will outlast the bag and it is a little awkward trying to get it in. 2) Vestibule is super nice but required to go up if you are using the rain fly which could be a hassle. 3) There are not enough tent stakes for all guy lines. So I have to pay an extra $65 for the correct footprint (which i recommend cause it has a little door matt that is very convenient) but I also have to buy new tent stakes if I want to make sure this thing doesn't blow over?! Gimme a break. Wish they included at least enough stakes but this is common for most tents. 4) Based on my own research and not from experience, the kryptonite for this tent is high winds, however, out of taller/similar tents, the Wawona is supposed to be the most resilient which is why I chose this over the comparable REI Kingdom. TLDR; OVERALL - I will always recommend this tent. Very excited to use it in the future. 4 stars only cause tent bag is a little annoying.
