Down insulation offers lightweight and compressible warmth, so you don't need to burden yourself with multiple bulky layers. The down is also Responsible Down Standard-certified, meaning the geese it came from were never live-plucked or force-fed, so you can rock this jacket with a clean conscience. When the adventure is over, the whole jacket packs into the hand pocket for easy carry in your pack.

    Love It!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: S
    • Height: 5'1"
    • Weight: 134lbs

I love this jacket! It’s perfect! I’ve been on a manic hunt for a jacket like this for months and I found the perfect jacket. Fits great, weight is just just for New York spring, the color is my favorite.

If you want layers underneath size up

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 5'6"
    • Weight: 155lbs

I ended up ordering a Medium in this jacket since that's what I am in all other North Face jackets. When it came I didn't love the texture but decided to try it anyways. It fit very snug and there was absolutely no way another layer was going to fit underneath this one. It was an okay jacket for the price but ended up sending it back because I didn't like the fit or the texture.

    Flattering and functional

Loving this jacket! The Rumba Red color caught my eye right away because I am a sucker for a deep red, and I was in desperate need for a solid insulated jacket. The slim fit makes it flattering for casual everyday wear and just this past weekend I learned that its stretch construction and water-resistant finish made this very practical for hiking and camping. I took this jacket on an overnight trip in the Wasatch mountains and was able to easily stuff the jacket into its pocket and in my backpacking pack without taking up much volume. The next morning, I wore the jacket hiking on a sunrise summit and it kept me warm against the strong summit winds. When I got home from the overnight trip, I easily wiped away the dirt and dust with a damp cloth and now its ready for the streets again! I am usually a size medium or large and went with a large in this to have room for layering with baselayers and sweaters, and comfortable unrestricted movement while recreating.

    Flattering and functional

You wouldn't think red goes with alot!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I bought the red because its not a loud .bright red.It matches with lots .So i'm happy i bought it.Its warm .true to size.inside deep pockets for gloves.Only draw back i have noticed is the feathers are poking through here n there.I dont wear this coat every day either.I wear other northface styles and it hasn't happened with the 4 other styles i have.

    So warm!

Bought as a gift..."The jacket is exactly what I have been looking for. It is so warm and cozy! And I really love the red color. This is the perfect down jacket and fits great." says the lady friend

    super warm and fits well

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size

I bought this because I wanted a cozy, and durable down jacket. I liked the idea of the stretch down and so far it has proven to be exactly what I was hoping for. I wear it skiing in the resort and touring, It fits well under a shell and I've worn it as my main layer while skiing, the 550 fill down is nice and toasty. The wrist cuffs have a cool cinch so they keep warmth in and the collar is nice and high. The stretch is definitely noticeable when moving the arms. overall I'm stoked. Im about 5 foot and 105 lbs and the XS fits snug.

**UPDATE: I wore this at the climate march today in Denver where is was blizzarding with wet snow/rain and I was AMAZED at how dry it stayed. I was completely dry after 3+ hours standing in the rain, the little moisture that had seeped in dried immediately after stepping into a coffee shop. I am very impressed.

    Stretchy and warm

I like the fit and style of North Face products. I only needed one go to jacket for the winter months here in Utah and opted for this one. Glad I did because I love it! The green is almost more subtle than the pictures show and the material is super soft. Pulling both arms forward I can really feel the stretch of the jacket through the shoulder and back area. It's easy to wear this as a stand alone jacket or under a shell. I sized up just a little because I will use it mainly as a solo outer layer so I wanted more room to layer underneath. I'm 5'7" 120lbs with 33" chest and opted for the medium for my ideal fit. I usually go for a medium in North Face unless I want it súper fitted

      TNF Stretch Down Jacket

This stretch down jacket is nice, it provides you with plenty of warmth and insulation, and it fits true to size. I ordered the Rabbit Gray and returned just because the color is different in real life than it is in the photos. I was expecting it to be pale pink, but it's much more of a gray in real life. It just washed me out. Still a great quality jacket though!
