Why We Like The Verto 18L Backpack

With our essentials stashed in the Verto, we're ready to tick the next summit off our list. The semi-translucent material lets us see our gear from the outside, so we know exactly where to reach for another layer, while the ice tool carry keeps our axes' picks tucked away from our sleeves and rope as we sling the pack off and on.

Sleek, modern and functional 18 Liter Verto Backpack

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This 18 Liter Verto Backpack is perfect for short day hikes or climbing steep mountain walls; its sleek design and its visual attractiveness make this a unique pack that folks will envy and seek in The North Face shops everywhere. When this pack was sold out I waited until it was back in stock and I am so glad I did. I had an Uncle who was a well known mountaineer/climber in the French Alps back in his time, I can only imagine how he would have appreciated this Verto backpack if it had existed in his day. I appreciate the Verto pack even more when I think of my Uncle. Bravo to The North Face for their sustained line of new innovations used and admired by so many outdoor enthusiasts. From highly skilled mountain experts to casual day hikers, I am confident all will enjoy this Verto 18 Backback!

Perfect size, great quality

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great quality and perfect size for back country skiing. I took supplies for the whole day. The pack is comfortable and lightweight. I'd highly recommend it.

Great pack, would re-buy in a heart beat!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my slope bag starting this year, still too early in the season to stay out one or get too far from the resorts but holds all I think I'll need and isn't so big that it makes the lifts awkward.

BEWARE! Flimsy stitching!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I would highly recommend looking for another pack as this _will not_ hold up in any sort of adventure scenarios imo. I had never used my pack before and the top loop stitching broke while pulling it out of my trunk! Probably less than 20lbs of force! I was planning on using this pack on long multi-pitch routes but the stitching is so weak I could never trust it to hold my gear up on a wall. I'm really glad the looping broke on the ground and I didn't lose any of my gear on the wall!

Awesome pack

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Haven't used it as a summit pack yet but it's great for day hiking and perfect for taking to the crag when you aren't taking a full rack. Super tough for its weight, comfortable and has all the features you need. My favorite pack under 20 liters.

Great little summit pack!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this pack! Wide enough to slide a helmet into, and the other essentials/layers. Rope attaches nicely to the top. There's two side straps to secure the rope as well, though I think with a 60 meter rope you might need to mess with the attachment points holding those straps, somehow, to get them to fit the coil. Holds my 40 m gym rope just fine though. Can't wait to take this one out on some fast and light missions this season!

Totally Happy With It

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Took this pack on a multi pitch climb right after purchasing. It's a great pack. Just the right size for a day pack and looks pretty cool too. I really liked how the fabric lets light through, making it easier to find things at the bottom. The only issue was that the side straps for carrying rope were threaded through a couple retaining loops that were in the way so, I had to cut the loops to make the straps usable. It wasn't a big deal. And having done that, it carried a 70m rope with reasonable comfort.
