Raging snowstorms to icy summits.

The go-to choice for alpine expeditions, ice climbers, and backcountry skiers seeking a glove to stand up to use at high altitudes, The North Face Vengeance Gore-Tex Glove keeps your hands and fingers from succumbing to wind-blasted summits, soaking-wet snow, and frigid alpine temperatures. Most impressive with this glove is the perforated goatskin leather along the palm and back-of-hand, ventilating your hands to prevent them from feeling cold and clammy due to perspiration buildup. Goatskin leather is also highly supple, allowing you to make gear adjustments and grip onto treacherous routes without ample dexterity.

The Gore-Tex Pro 3-layer membrane repels the wettest precipitation and deepest powder, ensuring your hands and fingers stay nice and dry for long-duration alpine exploration, demanding ski tours, and nasty conditions at the resort. Super-durable nylon Taslan ripstop along the bottom and cuff ensures long-lasting use, even in the most demanding conditions and rigorous alpine activities.

Insulated with PrimaLoft Gold along the back-of-hand, the glove's removable Polartec Wind Pro liner keeps your hands pleasantly warm through frigid temperatures. This synthetic insulation mimics down's high-loft clusters for an extremely high warmth-to-weight ratio. And since it's synthetic, you won't have to worry about outside moisture and condensation compromising its heat-trapping warmth. Additional key features include a full-length gauntlet cuff that seals out deep snow and wind-blasted precipitation, as well as a removable wrist leash.

  • Incredibly lightweight and durable hand protection for your most extreme outings
  • Constructed element-proof Goretex and grippy goatskin to meet your every need
  • Insulated removable liner keeps your hands warm in the most bitter of alpine winds
  • Full length gauntlet provides the overlap you need to seal out the elements

Disappointed

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I owned the previous version of this glove. They were great gloves and no matter what the conditions were, the gloves were extremely warm. I wore out my old gloves and bought these. I thought that the only difference was that the new gloves are all black, instead of having some red North Face stitching. I was wrong. The current gloves have tiny holes on the top side of the gloves over the fingers and the hand. I don’t know if this is what causes the problem, but my fingers have been very cold each time that I have skied in “cold” weather. (If the wind is really blowing, it just compounds the problem.). I have always liked North Face gear, but these gloves miss the mark. A glove at this price point should not have this kind of issue.

Fourth Season on these gloves

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have used these gloves for the past three ski seasons and I am heading into the fourth year. I have perhaps 150 ski days on these gloves. The gloves have remained waterproof through this entire period. The leather is showing signs of wear but they have not torn or developed a hole in them. These are the warmest gloves I have found over the years but below about 15 degrees Fahrenheit I switch over to mittens. Great gloves but buy them on sale.
