Great and stylish hiking/trail shoe

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer
Fit:
True to size

My husband and I do a lot of hiking/walking over varied terrain (mountain, trail, minimal road). I prefer a more athletic hiking shoe over clunky boot and this was just what I was looking for. As another user said, grey became dirty quite quickly, but I figure the dirt is just a trail badge of honor for my once-was-new-but-now-are-broken-in-kicks. I’m usually a perfect 6.5, but I sized up to 7 to account for thicker socks, a bit of foot spread/swelling, etc. Fits very comfortably and doesn’t aggravate my bunion after a long day on the trail. My only complaint is that the laces are round rather than flat and require an annoying amount of retying if I am unable to double knot.

Great Hiking Boot

Familiarity:
I've used it several times
Fit:
True to size

These shoes were a little stiff at first and I thought they might be uncomfortable. But I took them on a hike and they were great. Love that they are waterproof too!

I've been looking for these all my life!

In all seriousness, I have probably purchased at least a handful of trail runners/hikers that I thought for sure would be the perfect shoe, only to wear them once and realize they needed to go. Pro: 1. Wide enough foot that nothing pinches and even when your foot swells, nothing rubs at the front. 2. Supportive enough for any hike 3. Light enough to wear for a walk on the gravel trails around the neighborhood. Con: 1. I love the sparkling new Grey, that quickly got dirty but this is something I quickly got over. I have an 8. I normally wear an 8 in most shoes but can struggle sometimes in trail runners without going to a wide or 8.5 that usually don't fit me quite right. The 8 worked perfect.

Great Hiker!

I just got this shoe and love it. I was looking for a light hiker for walking my dog around the trails in Park City and the Vals WP is perfect. I love that the shoe has the HydroSeal, so if the trails are wet I don't have to worry. I am normally anywhere between a 8.5-9.5 in shoes, and the 9 fits me perfectly.
