SO COMFORTABLE, but Overpriced

I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

So the reason I purchased these pants is for a pair of fleece pants when I'm winter camping. I want a solid insulating layer to ensure a little more comfort in the cold. I've only had these pants for a couple days and I really do like these pants. I think they will serve the purpose that I bought them for. I took them for a blustery night time walk with the dog as a test (around 45 degrees but 30-40 mph wind) and I was pleasantly surprised at how little wind got through the pants. It was enough to know there was wind but I never felt cold or uncomfortable. I was going to sleep in them but about 2 minutes after climbing into bed I felt like I was on fire (I do sleep very warm) so I changed out of them. I cannot wait to get out into the cold to put these to the test (I'll update once I have). And, speaking of comfort, these are SOOOOOO COMFORTABLE. I've been purchasing a number of leisure pants lately (standard issue pandemic attire) and these may be the most comfortable yet. My only complaint is that I'm struggling with why they cost $65 retail. Don't get me wrong, I'll pay through the nose for a piece I know I can and will rely on in the back country, so it's not like I'm cheap, but these feel a little over priced for what they are (I got them on sale so I think I did get a good deal but would not pay retail for these). And to add to that, the drawstring is worthless. These pants fit well, not too loose but not too tight. The drawstring is so short I'd have to cut off circulation in order to tie it. What's the point? Seems like a maybe these pants are lost somewhere between being a fashion piece and a technical piece. Just to be fair, if you shop around at other fleece pants that are similar, these retail for cheaper than most so I guess, yay, economics! Lastly, the stated weight is a bit off. My size large weighed in at 10.5oz (almost a third more than the claimed weight of 8oz). I weigh everything I purchase to verify the claimed weight and this is the first time a piece has been this far off. Ultimately, I think they are a good value proposition, especially if you get them on sale. If you want to lounge around the house and you are a fan of TNF, you can't go wrong with these. They are warm and comfortable.

Love these, great for a base layer on extra cold days, or looking stylish while hanging out around the house.
