Historically, the Thermoball has been an extremely popular jacket every season. Unfortunately, I used to get calls from customers saying it wasn't warm enough for their winters. This one changes the game.

I expected this jacket to be a slight step up in performance with lots of added bulk and less comfort. This thing legit compares in warmth to my Patagonia HiLoft down jacket, plus it keeps you warm if it gets wet! It is a big step up in weather protection from the thermoball. I also found that it was pretty versatile. In some cases, I wore it in the office or on warmer fall days and it didn't sweat me out too much. I also wore it with just a tshirt on 20F morning dog walks and it kept me warm and comfy.

I love the cuffs and hood for how they are fitted to keep the weather out. I like the zips (no snags or issues) and the cinch-cord worked well to keep the waist tighter on windy days. I recently packed it along to hike Hanging Lake and am extremely happy I did so. The weather was warm going up, but sitting up at the lake was mid-30s and the steep hike down snowed. This thing kept me warm and protected.

This is something I would legit sell as a winter jacket if you live in a moderate climate and the regular Thermoball isn't enough.

    Super Jacket

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: XL
    • Height: 6'2"
    • Weight: 175lbs

The Thermoball Super is truly a super jacket. It will keep you and your phone super warm as the chest pocket is made under the insulation. Perfect for the freezing weather because of the burly design and heavy thermal insulation. The two cinches can help adjust the waistline if you feel any of Mr. Winter's elements giving you a cold surprise. Fully zipped up you feel like there's no blizzard you can't handle in the Thermoball Super. It's not super-heavy but still heavier than your average synthetic and doesn't pack super small for touring. Paired with a Gore-Tex shell for protection, I am extremely confident that I will not get cold on the 5 degree windy days on the mountain!

Overall: This is your keep-me-warm-no-questions-asked jacket. A large would have provided a more fitted hood and sleeve, but the XL will still serve its purpose!

    Super Jacket

    Nice surprise

It's a thermoball on steroids. Love the weight and the fit. The fit in the description says standard fit, but I received a slim fit which worked out good for me. It is not stowable but that does not matter to me. Hem adjustment in pockets. I obviously haven't worn it in colder temps yet, but is definitely warmer than my standard thermoball jacket that I've worn for years. I like the fit and feel of it better than the Cerium LT. Only compliant the logo is not stitched in, it's like a iron on kinda cheap looking. I have no idea why they would cut corners on a jacket where the haven't in all the other places..
