Cute but runs small!

I love the coat- perfect shell for winter, but I was looking for a top layer to use over bulky sweaters and actual warm layers and this is definitely too slim fitting to layer. The measurements on the sizing chart said the L would be the perfect fit but it's just too perfect to add winter layers under. Good if you're looking for a Fall/early winter top layer, but size up, maybe even 2 sizes up, if you intend to layer it. There's no built in ease for that!!

I purchased this jacket to wear on a trip to Colorado last weekend. We hiked in RMNP and skied at Copper Mountain. During these days, Hwy 70 received its biggest snow storm of the season - more than 30 inches in two days! Despite the sub-freezing temperatures, I stayed nice and warm with this jacket! I layered it with a fitted, fleece zip-up and was completely comfortable. I was originally concerned that I would not be warm enough since it's a thinner jacket than the tri-climate options available, but that was not the case! Within the kangaroo pocket, there is a microfiber phone slot next to the zipper. The kangaroo pocket is very spacious. I carried three granola bars and could have added a sandwich easily. The sleeves were a tad long, but it wasn't an issue since the ends have velco cuffs. The bottom of the jacket can be cinched tight, which along with the snow skirt, helped to keep out the powder. In case you didn't catch it, I LOVE this jacket! The only downside is that it does not have handpockets, but I wore gloves the whole time, so that was never an issue. Another review said that it is difficult to get off. Though it is more challenging than a full-zip jacket, the side unzips all the way up through the armpit. That zipper, combined with the half-zip on the front allow for plenty of mobility to remove the jacket over one's head without taking off a hat/beanie.
(purchased on husband's account, reviewed by wife!)
I loved the jacket, just too hard to take off.
