Give your tent a sturdy foundation.

Grab The North Face Tadpole 2 Footprint and let your Tadpole age gracefully instead of suffering from seasons of abrasion from rocks and pokes from sticks. This PU- and silicone-coated ripstop nylon footprint adds a protective layer between rough ground and tent floor, and you can even leave the tent body at home and pitch the fly with just footprint for warm summer camping.

    Protection From Rain & Wear

I've got an older TNF tent and couldn't find its footprint still in stock so I decided to give this one a try. My tent's floor dimensions are 89x54" and the Tadpole's is 88x54" though one of the short ends seems slightly shorter than the other. It nonetheless should work just fine and I'm psyched to have it as an extra layer of protection from rain and wear to my tent. Well worth the investment!

      An essential

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have used this footprint for years with a variety of tents, and it has always done the job great. It has worked on every single type of ground I have put it on, and has not ripped or torn a single time. It folds up very small and can fit inside of a tent bag, great for backpacking. It dries out in five minutes or less when wet, which is one of the best features

Out of sight, out of mind

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This is not a very glamorous product and it's not the most fun way to spend $55, but it's money well spent. I would recommend biting the bullet and elevating your camping comfort. Next time you get stuck camping in unsavory weather you'll be glad you did. And while it might be a big chunk of money to spend on a square of fabric, it's a quality product that will last you for years and years so over time it's a great value.

I have a North Face Flint 2 tent. It has...

I have a North Face Flint 2 tent. It has been discontinued and everywhere on the planet who used to have footprints for this tent are out of stock. What would you recommend for a footprint? The stormbreak 2, Mica 2, and tadpole 2 are all close but not a perfect fit. I could also buy some quality tarp and cut one out myself... but thats a bit of work. Would one of these footprints work just the same or is there some way to get a hold of an actual Flint 2 footprint?

      Hey Andy,

Honestly I do not suggest trying to make another tents footprint work for the one you own. You're going to spend $35 on a footprint that isn't going to line up or fit properly and then it wont work as effectively as you would hope. You are better off making your own. Backpacker Magazine did a pretty good instructional as to how:
