Best made jacket

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] One of the most well-made jackets I've ever work. Very detailed. Great fit with the perfect taper. Love the thoughtful fabric placement on the inside of the section that rubs your face. Wrist velcro is comfortable and smooth. Love the color! Stoked to get this thing out into the wild.

Not waterproof or water resistant

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It doesn't work. I'm trying to return pants and jacket. After I few laps on a chair lift and I'm soaked. Jacket a pants soak through in clouds; drizzle, mist, fog, snow.

TNF amazing warranty

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Definitely lighter than my last Summit series jacket. Zipper failed On my original summit series and TNF replaced after 10 years of use........I call that an amazing warranty! You earned a customer for life.

Not as advertised

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Heavy rain this L5 Summit Series is not made the way it use to compared to the thicker Gortex materials. In couple hours I was soaked the material did not protect me from the weather. Compared to my old Gortex L5 Summit Series I was dry in a heavy rain fall weather all year round.

I'm always out in front with this Jacket on.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm a mountaineering guide and love the Summit Series. This jacket pops in pictures and I stay dry and comfortable. Only good things so far. I'm 5'11 and the medium fits perfect.

Great coat with one flaw

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great coat, the attention to detail on this jacket is amazing. Futurelight works as advertised and keeps you dry. My biggest compliment is the lack of lower hand pockets. Although it is an alpine jacket most of time I'm wearing it as a coat around town so the missing hand pockets is annoying.

Best all-around ski jacket on the market

Familiarity:
I've used it several times
Size Bought:
Small
Height:
5' 7"
Weight:
165

Future light material is no joke. It's the perfect middle ground between hard and softshell. It breaths incredibly well on ascents, and keeps you warm from the chill and wind on the lift chair. What more can you ask for? Yes, cheaper would be nice. But you get what you pay for. I am 5'7" athletic build and I wear a smedium. The small size was a little tighter in the hips than I prefer, but was not a deal-breaker. The fit was perfect everywhere else. If I had gone with a medium, the arms-length would have been too long and chest space too large. Overall, I do not regret spending over $600 on this jacket. When paired with the blue L5 pants/bib, it only gets better. If you have the cash for it, buy both. You won't regret it. I also wore small in the pants size.
