We use the North Face Summit L3 Ventrix Hoodie for any high alpine adventure. Ski touring in the winter or spring, shoulder season days at the crag, and even during mountaineering missions. The Ventrix insulation offers stretch to keep us moving freely and enough warmth for a shoulder season day in the mountains when it is used alone. When we situate this piece under a shell it provides enough warmth to help us battle fierce winter weather.

Light and Warm

I definitely would purchase another Ventrix style
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I thought the material was great. When unzipped the neck area flops all over. When zipped the neck area is in bunches. It had a definite different look and slightly bigger in its size than the other 2 Ventrix style coats I own. The L size in the two I own fit perfectly. This was a tad big.

Highly recommended

Great mid layer jacket.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The hoodie is used primarily for ice climbing. A mid to outer layer. Warm, light weight piece. Layers well. Stores in a compact, supplied stuff sack. Only improvement I would suggest is internal mesh storage pockets, tho not a deal breaker.
