Why We Like The North Face Snomad 34L Backpack

The North Face's Snomad 34L Backpack gives everything its place while remaining light and streamlined. The durable framework and dual-side compression straps give us a comfortable carry when under a full load, while the treated fibers shed sprindrift and spray. As we hunt down pow, our avy gear gets its own organizational compartment, our goggles snuggle into a soft-lined pocket, and our skis stay secure in an A-frame.

Perfect for splitboarding

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This bag exceed expectations. I recently got into splitboarding, and this bag is just perfect. Lightweight but sturdy, big enough to hold everything needed. Definitely recommend the L/XL, it's not too big!

A Backcountry Snowboarding Must Have!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Took this bag to Utah on a snowboarding trip and it was incredible. From a carry on that can easily hold my helmet to the slopes it was everything I envisioned it being.

Perfect Mountaineering Bag

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the perfect bag for touring. The helmet carry/skins pocket is so intuitive and makes it easy to transition quickly. The back zip access allows you to access anything you might need in your pack without rummaging from the top. The clip at the top is good for rope carry so this bag is a good intro into mountaineering bag. The only thing I would change is the access to the avy gear pocket. The zip goes all the underneath the helmet carry sleeve which could make it difficult to access in an emergency situation. I always make sure the zippers are easily accessible before heading out into the backcountry.

My favorite N. F. pack design

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This backpack should win a design award. Living in Alaska, this pack can be used all year. There is even a snow safety checklist sewn inside--great touch! Larger pockets, so easy to roll up clothing or gear/supplies to fit--tather than, being limited by smaller pockets and compartments. Plus there ARE plenty of needed small storage pockets on left hip, inside and on top.

Great pack for the backcountry. Highly recommend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use this pack for backcountry touring and I love it. It fits everything I need for a long day out in the backcountry. The goggle pocket at the top is lined with fleece and has additional storage nets for odds and ends. Plenty of cinching straps allow for sizing adjustments so the pack fits perfectly on your back. The pack is very comfortable and does not move around. I barely notice it on the ski down which I cannot say for other packs I've worn. My only complaint is that the waist belt doesn't have a pocket on each side. I use a hybrid binding and the toe pieces are removable so the waist belt is a great place to store those. However, the front stash pocket is deep enough and secure enough to throw them in there below my helmet on the skin up. The avalanche safety pocket is deep/big enough to accomodate a 320cm probe and a shovel with a beefy handle as well as my skins on the ski down.
