Decidedly waterproof.

Fend off downpours of all shapes and sizes with a little help from The North Face Resolve Jacket. Waterproof and breathable HyVent 2L shell fabric allows sweaty vapor to escape from within, and shrugs off heinous weather on the outside. Meanwhile, an mesh lining provides a buffer between your under layers and the outer fabric, which ultimately wicks away moisture and ensures you stay comfortable. An adjustable hem battens down the hatches, and the adjustable hood offers on-the-go protection when the skies turn particularly nasty. Not to mention, the taped seams add an additional measure of weatherproofing so you won't spring any unexpected leaks.

  • A waterproof, windproof jacket that combats inclement weather
  • DryVent 2L exterior is breathable and waterproof
  • Mesh lining wicks away moisture for comfort
  • Adjustable hem and hood provide customizable protection
  • Bevvy of pockets keep necessities close
  • Hood also stows in collar for convenience

Kept me dry

This jacket fit well, I was able to wear my NF fleece under it with room to spare. We had wind, rain, sun and blue skies on our hike, this jacket was perfect! I have even used it for evening football games in the rain.

Unanswered Question

if i want this primarily as a rain coat which is better the venture or the resolve? what are main differences? i have north face jackets for warmth i just need a rain coat for traveling

would you say this jacket would be suitable for snowboarding with a down jacket zipped inside?

Hey Sarah,

It could be used for snowboarding as the shell material is durable enough and will remain waterproof during snowstorms and being in the snow. With a down jacket and some good layers I think this would work just fine for snowboarding. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Is this jacket warm?

Hi Brookelyn,

The jacket by itself does not have any internal insulation to keep you warm- but it will protect you from the wind and rain. But for cold temps, you will need to wear an insulating layer underneath to stay warm!

Unanswered Question

I bought a resolve jacket from here two years ago and I love it. I just bought another same size different color and it fits so different. I am 5'5 and 110 so my xs fits great the new one i bought is too short and too wide. Do you know if they changed the cut or measurments for this years coat? I would like to try to reorder one more time hoping it was just a mistake but I dont want to pay for two return shipping if they both dont work out.

Hi I'm about 5ft tall can I can get some idea of where the TNF resolve parka jacket will fall on me? Thanking you in advance.

Unanswered Question

Have anyone bought the tomato red color? Is it really bright?

what are the main differences in this the North Face Resolve and the North Face Venture? I am looking for something warmish, and waterproof, they appear so similar I'd like to know the differences.

I have just purchased a Resolve Jacket & I think the main differences between this & the Venture is -- on the Venture the hood doesn't fold up & store in the collar, the sleeves are velcro adjustable at the wrist, the hood has a hood adjuster on the back to make it smaller around the head (if needed) & I don't think the Venture has a fleece lined collar. I love my Resolve jacket & wanted one that the hood folds & stores in the collar, which is does.

whats the difference in the venture and resolve north face jackets?

Best Answer

It looks like the Resolve is heavier and has less breathability than the venture jacket. Also the cuffs are not adjustable rather than having a hook and loop closure like the venture does and the Venture has underarm vents where as the Resolve does not have any ventilation at all. I hope that this helps and let us know if you need any more help.

Thanks

I am looking for a coat that is a light raincoat for 70 degree days and 50 degree evenings. Is this the right jacket? Or should I go with the Venture? We will be doing some hiking but also some city tours. Thank you!

This is a great rain jacket! I live in central Florida and I wear this jacket all the time. I am thinking about taking this jacket with me when I go skiing in March in West Virginia. Has anyone wore this in the snow or on the slope before? Or would any one recommend it ?

I live in North Florida and need a rain...

I live in North Florida and need a rain jacket year-round. I previously owned the NF Venture and loved it for rainy summer days, or layered it for winter. Is the Resolve similar? I am scared it will be too heavy in the summer.

If you have had good experience with the TNF Venture and are worried about weight/bulkiness I would not steer you toward The North Face Resolve Jacket. While the Resolve is a good rain jacket, it is heavier, has a mesh lining, and lacks the underarm venting that allows you to dump unwanted heat even during humid downpours in the Southeastern United States. If you are looking for another rain jacket similar to the TNF Venture I would recommend the Marmot Precip or the Patagonia Torrentshell.
