    Morph Down Jacket

Climb on through the winter in The North Face Morph Down Jacket. Whether you're heading to Joe's Valley for some icy bouldering in the Swell or you're leading a multi-pitch route in Squamish this fall, you're going to want something warm to take the chill off of you when you're breaking a sweat. The Alpine Fit of the Morph wears comfortably under a climbing harness, so you feel unrestricted when sending bold power moves. Slim sleeves are less likely to get snagged on rough rocks, and the 800-fill down offers lofty insulation to keep you comfortable when you're on belay for what feels like hours while you're climbing partner attempts to send the crux move.

    • Lightweight insulator for climbing and backcountry skiing
    • Compressible down fill has a high warmth-to-weight ratio
    • Slim fit keeps sleeves from snagging on rocks
    • Long Alpine Fit sits below a harness comfortably
    • High pocket placement is harness- and pack-friendly
    • Elastic bound cuffs keep sleeves in place

    it is a nice jacket!

    • Fit: True to size
    • Height: 5'5"
    • Weight: 142lbs

I just bought this for my next vacation in Alaska this Dec. Just tried it and the small size is perfect for me. It is a real lightweight jacket. Hopefully, It will keep me warm around -20 C degree!

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: L
    • Height: 6'0"
    • Weight: 190lbs

Very lightweight, but ran big for a large, which is the size of several TNF products I own. Sleeves were about 2-3 inches too long. Fit well across the shoulders but too loose through the torso.

    Solid jacket

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Fit: True to size
    • Height: 6'0"
    • Weight: 180lbs

I picked this up for my old man for Christmas. I originally tried a jacket from another brand, but the fit was a bit too tailored. TNF fits true to size and has a more traditional fit than some other brands. High quality down and solid construction complete the trifecta for a great jacket. He wears this thing all the time now.

Puts Patagonia Down Sweater to Shame!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 5'9"
    • Weight: 168lbs

I wanted to thank Nicholas Gray (gearhead) for recommending the North Face Morph...I think it has become my favorite jacket since the new Patagonia Down Sweater Men's Medium (which I had the old one for 7 years) now seems to be made for a child.

My favorite features are the longer / adjustable sleeves that work perfectly with an apple watch when outside and I need to check time or start and stop an activity! And...the larger / higher neck of the coat.

    It's warm and light

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Height: 5'6"
    • Weight: 125lbs

I bought this as a birthday gift, and they said it is very warm and lightweight, but it fits boxy. Although the description says "slim fit" there's a lot of room around the torso. I bought a large for someone who's 6' 175 lbs.

    Good Mid-Weight Option

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Large
    • Height: 5'11"
    • Weight: 215lbs

USE: So far, after a few weeks of use, it's been as a good layer under a shell during the winter commutes in Seattle. Temps have been between 25-40 in the mornings and this jacket has definitely helped bridge the gap. It breathes well and packs small so I can wear it in the afternoon or stash it. I have not used it solo more than a few times so not sure how it handles (warmth factor) the rain yet. FIT: Fit for me is okay. Im probably between sizes but haven't tried the XL. I'm about 6' and 215 lbs and the large fits nearly perfect except in the shoulders where it's a bit tight. Length of waist and sleeves are about right at 34-35". FEATURES: I'm very pleased with three pockets and collar. For me, the collar is almost the right size to cover throat if I leave last 2" open. Zips are good, although the main pull can stick near top of chest if you zip quick. Once I confirm fit (L vs XL), I'm eager to feel how it does outside city limits.

    Awesome Light Weight Down

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Large
    • Height: 6'0"
    • Weight: 195lbs

First, based on the images this looks like a pretty substantial puffy. If you check the specs though, note that at 11oz this is definitely a light weight down jacket, best for mild weather or for using as a layer under a shell. That said, I bought it to use as a layer under my ski shell and so I love how light it is. It's thin and light enough that it doesn't feel bulky under my ski jacket, yet has enough to keep me warm. I wear a baselayer, this jacket, and a non-insulated shell and that keeps me comfy in pretty much any temps. If it get's insanely cold, like sub zero, I would definitely need to add something or switch to a beefier jacket.

I've also used it as an outer layer to keep me warm when traveling, and the super light weight and insanely compressible down makes it perfect for that. Packs down real small, and if you pull it out and toss it over a long-sleeve shirt/flannel it's very warm.

I would highly recommend if you're after a light weight down jacket. Fit is true to size, but if you aren't familiar with North Face "true to size" for them is a touch big. I'm 6' 195lbs and wear Large or XL depending on the brand, Large fits me perfect.
