The worst North face coat ever

I completely agree with the other review! Zipper is horrible and feathers everywhere. I did get this coat 20% off but it’s not worth $20.00 let alone $200. I was trying to replace a north face parka that I’ve had for almost 10 years and love. Complete waste of money. I wish I could send it back on a warranty issue or something.

I have purchased down Northface jackets in the past but noticed the material, zipper and even the buttons for the hood on this jacket are of extremely poor quality. The zipper does not catch very well and is made of plastic vs. the metal ones used in the past. Unless the zipped is slightly angled a specific way it is really difficult to get it to even catch to the other side to try to zip it up. There are feathers coming out of the stitching seams EVERYWHERE on the jacket. Everywhere I got there are down feathers flying around causing me to sneeze or get stuck on my clothes, other peoples car seats. I'm not sure if it's the thin cheap material used for the jacket or that the stitching holes are so big that feathers are constantly leaking thru the jacket. As I have mentioned before I have owned other Northface down jackets and this is not normal and has NEVER happened with previously owned Northface down jackets.  Lastly, there is no point in having a hood on this jacket. The buttons are small cheap plastic and the hood buttons pop off anytime something even touches the hood. When I take my seatbelt off in the car the hood just comes right off the buttons. In the past they have used metal/sturdier buttons or a zipper to attach the hood to the jacket. After the first few attempts to wear the jacket with the hood, I just took the hood off because it was pointless having to constantly take my jacket off to reattach it.  This jacket is horrible and defective and I am completely unsatisfied with it. Northface quality has gone down for sure and definitely not worth over $200 for what I paid. I have tried to give it a chance but the flying feathers coming-out of the seams has made my allergies flair up and I cannot handle it anymore.

My wife tried to skimp and ordered a few down jackets that were less expensive. The fit and comfort were horrible, This North Face jacket is warm, lightweight, stylish and my wife LOVES the added length past her calves. Highly recommend. She is a130 lbs, 5'4 and the medium fits great, enough room to wear a sweatshirt underneath.

After buying and returning two other brands of parkas, a friendly, knowledgable Gearhead helped me settle on The North Face Metropolis II. It's really warm, comfy, and not too puffy. I initially avoided this coat because of the price but ended up getting it on sale. Even at fll price, it would be a great buy.

I do love my parkas

This is one of many parkas i have added to my collection this year and I was not disappointed. I will agree that it does run a little large (I sized down to an XS with still room to spare) but i love the arm length as well as where the coat hits me right above my knee. The Grey Heather pattern comes across textured but still sleek. I'd definitely recommend this jacket if you're not afraid of adding a bit more bulk to your figure (like most down jackets) and are in need for some warmth in your life.

This jacket runs large and isn’t too flattering. I usually wear a small or medium but purchased a medium to be safe but it is very big and unflattering due to it. I was very excited for this jacket. It is super lightweight and feels like it’d be very warm. I think it would be a great jacket if it fit me properly. Don’t want to chance ordering a small because every jacket I’ve gotten recently is very off on the sizing.

I am addicted to coats. Had some BdY money and ordered this. It is perfect, more of a pearly white than super white. I am 5’6, 136 and the medium looks perfect. Have not braved the elements yet. Very shapely

Disappointed with the look and fabric

After reading the reviews about this jacket, I decided to order it in grey color. I was disappointed because the fabric looks old and unappealing. My kids thought I look older and boring. Not what I was expecting.

Box came opened

I was a bit disappointed that my package was left in front of my house opened. Luckily, I was home early today otherwise I do not know what could have happened to it. Also, I'm not sure if I'm seeing some feathers.

Very disappointed, I have worn it twice. Once when temps in the 30s (Fahrenheit), and once with temps in the 20s. Did not keep me warm at all. The shoulders are too tight. The neck is too loose. My Winchester hunting jacket is warmer. I feel that I wasted my money.

The perfect balance of class and function. This coat has become the center of my wardrobe universe. From my hair down to my undies - I now make those life choices depending on how well they potentially complement my North Face Parka. It keeps me real warm too.

This jacket is a perfect city/around town/commuting walking jacket! It keeps me warm on mornings when I have to scrape ice off my car or on nights in the city when we are walking around. I love the high collar for keeping my neck warm! It's a feature I now want in all my down jackets. For a down jacket the shape is also flattering on my figure which I think is hard to find. I would say this jacket is slim fitting. Overall, I definitely recommend!

Awesome jacket, love the extra length. It's warm, but at 550 fill, it's not super bulky, which I like.

I am an avid puffy coat wearer in the winter time...and pretty much anytime I can! The best thing about this coat is the length!! Having that extra length to cover the back of my legs is unreal! I wore this many times on freezing cold mornings, not one time was I cold. The hourglass fit is great and looks very flattering! I could still layer underneath, which was awesome!

Warmth - Average

While the fit was perfect (5’10; 175 odd) the warmth was not what I expected. Having purchased and worn in last year’s MA weather, I found my Jcrew down-filled parka warmer than this in the coldest of days. If i layered with a sweater I was fine otherwise it felt as though I could feel the breeze through the jacket. Purchase this for slight warmth.

This jacket is warm, great looking, longer (extra warmth!) and has a more slender cut, but still roomy enough to layer. I chose this over other options because I preferred the slender look to continue throughout the whole length (rather than have one that flairs more noticeably as you move to the hemline. I'm between sizes and purchased the smaller of the two.

Broken Zipper Nightmare

I ordered this coat last January and it was great...for a while. The coat is warm and the seaming is flattering. Unfortunately, this January (barely a year after purchase) the bottom part of the zipper fell off and broke in half, making the coat unusable. Backcountry customer service directed me to The North Face for warranty assistance. They told me the only option was to the send the coat for repair and wait 6-8 weeks for its return during the coldest months of the year. I've gone around and around with TNF customer service with no successful resolution. In retrospect, I wish I'd paid a little extra for a Patagonia jacket and their above and beyond customer service. Proceed with caution when buying The North Face products.

Love at first sight

Exactly as it appears in the photos, this jacket is perfection. I am actually looking forward to the colder temps now that I have this jacket! :)
