Lenado Insulated Jacket

Stay warm in The North Face Lenado Insulated Jacket while tearing up the slopes at the local ski resort. DryVent 2 layer waterproof fabric fends off wet and dry snow alike, so you're protected as you burst through the white room and down the hill back to the lift line. The Primaloft Black insulation traps and retains heat during blustery winter storms that leave an inch of snow on your lap before you get off the chairlift. The hood can be cinched over a helmet during storms or removed completely on bluebird days, and underarm pit zips can then dump heat if you find yourself getting too warm. Wrist gaiters keep snow and ice from sneaking into your arms if you take a quick spill, and the wrist pocket can hold a ski pass and comes with a goggle wipe to clear out the fog that can blur your vision.

Warm, Great Ski Jacket

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: XL
  • Height: 5'4"
  • Weight: 175lbs

I tried on maybe 10 jackets and had ordered 5 online. This was the winner. My husband likes it a lot on me. I am 5'4" 175 lbs and I got an XL. It was a roomy fit with just a base layer underneath (and I only needed a 250 merino base layer while resort skiing in Utah while it was about 30 degrees out). I was nervous about being warm enough because I run cold but it was great! I had never used this base layer before and was planning to layer with a mid so I kept the XL. But I probably could have sized down to a Large if I just wanted to wear base layers. The sleeves were a great length for my 5'4" frame, I did have to use the velcro but it wasn't super baggy or long like others I'd tried on. While it was sunny out and at the base of the mountain, I was definitely sweating in it. Pit zips came in handy and the pockets were enough. Once I got up the mountain on the lift I was glad for the high collar and roomy hood for the winds. I was plenty warm throughout two days of skiing. Didn't have a chance to test out waterproofing but it looks like it would hold up during a snowy day. The blue color looked pretty slick with my white snow pants and white wool hat, with great visibility on the mountain. Helmet fit fine underneath the hood. I got paranoid about my choice while on my trip and tried on a few more jackets at a store but comparing my final choice with the Lenado, I could see the clear value of the Lenado. It's very well made.

I will say that I took a tumble in some powder and got stuck and though I had secured the powder skirt before taking this trail, I still got a BUNCH of snow up my back. So if you ski powder a lot then you might want a closer fit.

Fits great, great mid-weight jacket

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: XL
  • Height: 5'7"
  • Weight: 175lbs

This jacket fits great, great material, mid-weight for those 20-60 degree ski days. I would wear a heavier jacket when under 15 degrees. Beautiful color, features and a little stretch for easy movement.

Bought for a friend

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Medium
  • Height: 5'7"
  • Weight: 135lbs

Bought this jacket for a friend for her birthday. She really raves about TNF and how their products last, fit great and looks great.
