    When worlds collide.

You've got a trusty fleece and a well-loved puffy. They wear great together, but sometimes you don't want all of that layering bulk. To get the best of both worlds, grab The North Face Kilowatt ThermoBall Insulated Jacket. Insulated wear you need it to be and soft wear you want it to be, this jacket is a versatile go-to for cold weather pursuits.

The body of the jacket is insulated with PrimaLoft ThermoBall insulation, offering you effective and weight-saving insulation for reliable core warmth. You've also got polyester-knit fleece in the arms and side keeping you comfortable and warm in those places where you might want a soft touch. The body is made of wind stopping and water repellent nylon, while the fleece has been treated with FlashDry-XD to manage moisture well and dry quickly. You've got two hand pockets for valuables and smaller pieces of gear, and a media-compatible chest pocket for cold weather days when you're feeling the groove on the approach.

    Versatile and Lightweight Jacket

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Large
    • Height: 5'9"
    • Weight: 200lbs

Amazingly soft and light, great cut. I got the blue in large for my 5'9 200lb frame and it looks great and the fit is excellent. Warm for as thin as it is, will keep you warm with only a t-shirt on as long as it doesn't get colder than high 40s and low 50s Fahrenheit. It will also work excellent as a midlayer when paired with a shell or parka. It packs away easily taking up very little room, to be there when you need it when the weather gets chilly or windy. Does a decent enough job of keeping you dry and the wind at bay for something that isn't a dedicated shell for the windiest and wettest of days. I'd definitely recommend, especially at the sale prices featured here on Backcountry.

    Blended Layer

    • Fit: Runs large

I bought this on a great price and it's worked out great as a layer that blends both fleece and insulated elements. I'm usually a medium but it was too big so I opted fro a small.

    real solid hybrid

I like this jacket a ton, not too technical but still packs a puch, works well with my waterproof apex flex gtx parka not bulky and can be worn all day at the office, working out, on a hike etc...really great piece

      Nice jacket but awkward fit

      • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
      • Fit: Runs small

The shoulders are too narrow so we sized up but then it looked too boxy. Quality is awesome and style is great but fit just didn't work out. Typically he wears a medium (which we initially purchased) but the shoulders were too narrow then we ordered a large which fit on the shoulders but was too big everywhere else.

      Interesting Hybrid Jacket

      • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
      • Fit: Runs small

The North Face Kilowatt is a warm and comfortable cross between a traditional hoodie and one of their tech-ier thermoball products. VIsually you're either going to dig the contrasting panels or hate them. Personally I found the look to be pretty cool, and in the black color way the overall look is relatively understated.

In the warmth department the jacket delivers and then some. It's more than up to task of casual mountain adventures and paired with a more robust shell it should make for an excellent insulating layer.

      Too warm for me

      • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: Small
      • Height: 5'6"
      • Weight: 140lbs

I really wanted to like the North Face Kilowatt Thermoball jacket, but it just didn't fit what I was looking to do. I have other Thermoball products and love each of them. I was really looking for something with a bit more warmth than a hoodie, but not a full jacket. This one was still just a bit too warm for my needs. The jacket is well constructed, fits well, and definitely is warm through the core; just too much for a mid-weight jacket for me. If you want the warmth of a light puffy and the look of a fleece, it definitely fits the bill. I just have too many options in that category and opted to go with something lighter.

      Stylish and warm!

      • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: M
      • Height: 6'
      • Weight: 180lbs

This jacket is awesome, it keeps you very warm while still looking fashionable. The material on the arms is very soft, and so is the inside of the jacket. It fits pretty true to size. I am 6' and athletic build. A medium fits perfect!

      Super Casual

      • Fit: True to size
      • Height: 5'3"

This coat is light weight and perfect for short outdoor adventures! The pockets in the front make it feel like a hoodie but it has the warmth of a coat!
