Why We Like The Homestead Roomy 2 Tent: 2-Person 3-Season

When our legs are begging for some R&R after that ten-mile grinder of a hike, we turn to The North Face Homestead Roomy 2 Tent to feel like we're in our own personal luxury suite. With a design the maximizes internal living space, the Homestead gives you and your hiking partner room to stretch and relax, but not at the cost of weather protection and weight.

The rainfly and floor are treated with a water-resistant PU coating to keep rain at bay, and the breathable canopy is equipped with no-see-um mesh windows to keep a steady supply of fresh air passing through the tent. The North Face threw in a gear loft for convenient gear storage, and the included viewing center gives you a spot to watch a movie from your tablet comfortably. All this and the Homestead still weighs under seven pounds, so you won't feel like you're lugging around an actual hotel when you're traveling.

I have bought this tent twice and I'd do it again.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The right amount of space that's makes this tent roomy and cozy. Bought one for my brother and it's become my favorite tent that I had to get my own.

Roomy... very roomy.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I would have rated it 5⭐ except for the stuff sack. Side entry sack is awkward. I've not tried it in the rain yet.

Family Idiot.

Great tent for paddlers

I'm as impressed as the next person with the state-of-the-art ultralight backpacking tents, and if I had to carry one up a mountain I'd want to pay what they cost. As a canoe and kayak tripper, though, I find I can get a more durable and more comfortable tent for a much lower price. This tent has all the features I look for (full fly, aluminum poles, freestanding, 2 doors) and is a very good (though basic) design. The sidewalls give good interior room, the loft is included, and there are pockets. While not a full-on expedition tent, I suspect if well pitched (tie loops of bungee to your guy lines to reduce shock), it would withstand any reasonable storms in the spring-summer-fall. The materials seem durable, and I expect the polyester fly will outlast any nylon (better uv resistance),
