Do you believe in magic?

If you were some kind of woodland wizard, then all you would need to do is play a little tune on your magical flute to make a cozy little cabin in the woods appear, complete with a goose down bed, roaring fire, and turkish delight. But, as much as we hate to break this to you, you're not a wizard, so you're much better off settling with The North Face Women's Green Kazoo 5 Degree Down Sleeping Bag, because you can toot on that flute all you want, but that cabin ain't coming.

The Green Kazo isn't without it's charms, though. For starters, The North Face gave it a heat-efficient mummy shape and packed it full of of its Hydrophobic ProDown insulation to deliver reliable performance, even if you do encounter a bit of moisture during your adventures. Its 5-degree Fahrenheit temperature rating is ideal for shoulder season backpacking trips and mid-summer mountaineering endeavors, and it makes the bag a welcome companion when you're sleeping in the back of your car up on Snoqualmie pass when you know the powder is going to prime first thing in the morning. The North Face even threw in sleeping pad loops to keep your pad planted beneath you, and it included a stuff sack and storage sack, so you can keep the Kazoo nice and lofty when it's not in use.

One to consider

I did quite a bit of research before my final decision landed upon this sleeping bag. Down vs, synthetic, weight, size, and warmth were all factors to be considered. I have had this bag for almost a year now and I have never regretted the purchase! With the help of a compression sack it can pack down small enough to fit inside my backpacking backpack (it's not tiny but you've got to remember that it's a 5 degree bag!). I tend to sleep cold so this thing brings me right up to a comfortable temperature but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who don't sleep cold unless you really are camping in extreme temperatures! I have another sleeping bag for the summertime and they balance each other out nice. All in all though, a great purchase... Even down to the color! Good quality, excellent design, a good sleeping bag.

Hello! This bag's weight (regular length) is advertised as 2 lbs 15 oz on the TNF website, but states it is 3 lbs 5 oz here. Could you please clarify? Thanks much!

Is this bag's exterior and interior fabric coated with DWR?

Hey Paul - The Green Kazoo Sleeping Bag does not have a DWR treatment. The outer material is ripstop nylon and the liner is Polyester taffeta. The ProDown insulation has a water-resistant finish that absorbs less water and dries faster than traditional down to keep you warmer in cold, wet conditions. Feel free to contact me directly with any additional questions.
