These boots are not rated for -40 as mentioned that's false,
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Nonface Men's Chilkat 400 II is an absolute Trash someone from corporate or quality control is taking shortcut. I wanted a warm boot I paid the extra money. I bought these boots at the Mall of America in Minnesota in December 2011 3 months later on 3/4/2022 these boots literally split open I was in shock . I don't to do labor work I only used these boots when I go to the dog park. I have to circulation or health issues. When I went to the store the employees at the Mall of America didn't care whatsoever. That situation was so bad I left the boots with the store employee and left. I felt so gross and taking advantage, I went home and dumped all of my North face products to the homeless Shelter. These boots are not rated for -40 as mentioned that's false advertisement. When the weather drops to 22 degrees your feet will get cold extremely fast. That's a 100 % accurate review buy these only if you are stupid and have money to waste. These boots are useless

I would buy again
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wear a size 13 in every shoe since high school, those boot are the snuggest boots I've owned. They fit with thin socks and since I'm in Texas that'll do! If you plan to wear thick socks go 1 size up.

Highly recommend these boots

Good boots, expect them to last.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Rating after only few weeks of use. Wear for work such as snow shoveling, plowing on tractor, and walking in woods. Comfy, moderately warm in 10-20F temps. I have cold feet. Well crafted. TNF folks were very helpful and would buy from them again.

Reliable. Rugged. Warm.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use these for snow duty on the railroad. Sometimes have them on for 8+ hours. So far so good. Toe area gets cold after a few hours. Change socks add a toe warmer. But for these to last on the railroad on ties and ballast, they handle abuse. Purchased an older model in 2015 they are still good I just wanted something higher.

Excellent boots for -40 C
I needed boots for outdoor use / hiking in -40 C. These boots performed excellently. Feet were warm with just one layer of wool socks. ++Comfortable unlike other boots I tried, sturdy, and reliable. Only thing: I usually wear 11.5, but needed a size 13 for this boot, likely because of the layer of insulation. Highly advise trying this in store, or otherwise ordering 1 to 1.5 sizes above your usual.
