Back-To-Berkeley Redux Leather Boot
The Back-To-Berkeley Redux Men's Leather Boot is The North Face's answer to the question, "if I don't know where I'm going today, what shoes should I wear?" Classic, casual style, courtesy of the waterproof leather upper and contrast stitching, meets up with Redux's waterproof HydroSeal waterproof membrane and PrimaLoft insulation to create a boot that's at home just about anywhere you choose to go. It's comfy, too, with an OrthoLite ReBound footbed and cushy EVA midsole, and at home on wintery ground, since The North Face hooked it up with a Winter Grip rubber sole that's complete with temperature-sensitive IcePick lugs, so you'll have bomber footing on snow, dirt, and slippery sidewalks.

I’ve lived in the Sonoran desert most of my life I’ve had many excursions into the dessert these boots are comfortable and rugged... Can’t wait to get them in the snow around silver city New Mexico... I’ve worn them around town to break them in but they were fine out of the box... I love these boots...

I have owned several pairs of North Face shoes always order a size 8 and have never had a problem these size 8 were like 2 sizes too big. Could possibly be mislabeled but just a heads up this style runs big. I wish I was able to order a size down because they seem like they would be great boots, but by they are currently out of stock.

I love all tnf shoes, I have bought 3 pairs about 2 to 3 years ago these have been the best shoes I have bought. I recently bought 2 more pair, 1 pair was perfect it looked new had the paper in the toe area and cardboard in the heal area, then the 2nd pair no paper in toe area or cardboard in heal area laces were untied there were scuffs and scratches on them and the leather looked dried out a bit, so I conditioned them they must have been a returned item possibly. But overall these shoes I give a 10 out of 10

Bought these in January to use for a North Dakota winter. They worked really well. I am in and out of the office all day, my feet stayed dry and with the correct socks they were warm as well. I do use other boots for the really cold temps, but for most days they were my go to boot. They also cleaned up well and were not hard to take care of, they scuff easy but I found all I had to do was rub the boot with a dry cloth and they looked just fine. I did end up having a warranty issue with an eyelet that popped out, Backcountry was great and helped me with the return process. I bought two more pairs for next winter.

Cool boot, tongue oddly short and laces

I like the look of these boots, and they do feel pretty comfortable. I would not do more than a one day hike in these boots. I didn't get these boots for hiking, I got these boots for travel in the winter where I can do some light hiking and also cruise around the city. My biggest issue with these boots is that the tongue is too short. The laces hit the very top of the tongue, I am hoping this will not be a major problem but it could potentially be. My other is that the laces are crazy long. For a boot, they are one of the best looking on the market. The boot runs slightly slightly large.

I'm a pretty true 9.5M and these did technically fit my foot, in that my toe didn't really hit the front. I also think the toe box was wide enough. The only thing that threw me is that the boot has a 3-9mm drop from heel to toe, but almost all of this happens in the ball/toe portion. It's not an even drop. Maybe all boots are this way, all I have for reference is a North Face Gore-tex boot from 2012, but it was a little weird to me. The light weight also made me wonder after the quality. But the leather felt real and I'm sure it's water tight. Just not my boot.

Great city and mountain boots
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
- Fit:
- True to size
These boots are great for around town in the wintertime and I also really like to wear them on my way up to the mountain because they are a bit looser fitting and they don't make my feet sweat so I have nice dry socks when I put my ski boots on. I also have a pair of Forsake's and they are so warm that I get wet socks on the way up to the hill. Not the most tech or waterproof boots but for around town and on the way up to the hill they do a great job.

I bought these to use as my everyday boots as we've been hammered with winter storms in here in the PNW and these boots rock. The long and short of it is that they are surprisingly warm and waterproof for their weight. They don't feel like a big clonky winter boot, but are lighweight and comfortable. They leather gains personality as it gets broken in, they dry quickly if you get them soaked, and they just look great. I ended up sizing down and for reference, Scarpa fits my feet well.

Have you ever had to run in snowboots? You know, everyone left you at the car while you were putting on a backpack and locking up and their chatting it up as they walk away. It's hard isn't it? Your ankles are twisting, and as you push off, your foot slides out early and your ankle is now level to your shoulder. Forget those worries! These boots keep you on the ground and stabilized! When walking through the city, you're looking stylish, chic, and truly and man of fashion. The only way that you can go wrong with these is with sizing. They do fit a little large but it still works for my wide feet.

Purchased these from my brother and this is what he said: Ok, I love these shoes. I wanted something warm that I wouldn't slip in. Purchased another pair that had NO traction and returned them immediately. I've been walking a lot this winter and these were comfortable right out of the box. They are warm and stylish. What's not to like?

Bought these three years ago and the left and right soles both separated a few months in at the rear with normal use. have been rocking shoe glue to keep them from falling apart since. I gave them two because they look dope but really not a fan of TNF footwear now.

Right out of the box I was concerned because the tabs on the back pulled right off. Usually I don't like those little loops on the heel of boots anyway so I didn't mind it too much, but still. Other than that I've worn them about everyday for a few weeks. Snow, rain, slush no problem. Stylish, functional and comfortable.

I Needed a good pair of go to everyday boots for the winter. I settled on these and have been wearing them pretty much every day this winter. Super comfortable right out of the box, no break in at all I wore them for a full night walking around outside the first day I got them with no issues. Light insulation keeps my feet nice and warm while walking outside but not too warm once I get inside for the day. Have walked through plenty of snow and slush with them and not gotten wet yet, but even more awesomely after wiping them down they still look new, no water spotting, salt stains, etc. The soles also offer great grip in wet and slippery winter conditions, shoveling the inclined driveway is much better in these. As far as sizing goes they run ever so slightly large, but not large enough to size down, I tried and ended up sticking with the size I normally wear. I just wear thick socks with them now and they fit fine.

These are super comfortable, supportive, warm, but not too hot, and everyone compliments them when I wear them. They were a touch narrow (I have a wide forefoot) at first, but the material quickly broke in and now fits perfectly.

Most of what I've read says they run true to size. I mostly wear Puma shoes (11.5), which also say true to size, but I've tried multiple boots that say true to size that are too large in 11.5, even with thick socks. So I guess my question is: do they run true to size relative to shoes, or to other boots? Answering my own question: they fit pretty true to my shoe size. After trying on a different style of NF boot locally, I ordered 11.5 and they fit about the same as my Pumas. They may be a little too snug with thick socks, but I wouldn't want to go up to 12.

What's the difference between this pair of shoes and the one without "Redux?" http://www.backcountry.com/the-north-face-back-to-berkeley-boot-mens?CMP_SKU=TNF5453&MER=0406&skid=TNF5453-GIBRBRBN-S13&CMP_ID=PLA_GOc001&mv_pc=r101&utm_source=Google&utm_medium=PLA&mr:trackingCode=16C8370D-AB45-E511-80F1-005056944E17&mr:referralID=NA&mr:device=c&mr:adType=plaonline&mr:ad=79923402277&mr:keyword=&mr:match=&mr:tid=pla-95934489397&mr:ploc=9032152&mr:iloc=1013585&mr:store=&mr:filter=95934489397&gclid=Cj0KEQiA-4i0BRCaudDcrrnDi6kBEiQAZSh5f953tWAnPiQN9-jDOGAkkm8oY0DdVClc5ua4Eq9-sBcaAsD98P8HAQ&gclsrc=aw.ds#review Didn't see an obvious difference after comparing the specs and description.

Hey Ian, The main difference is going to be the leather material in the upper. The Redux feature a full grain leather and the standard back to berkeley features a PU coated Mesh and Suede upper. I find the Redux to be more supple in the upper. Let me know if you have other questions.

This is the problem I have with these. I’ve found... when lacing up the boot... if you reverse(up then owwn around)the last 2 “clams”....he knot ties further down the shoe. Does that make any sense, lol??
