    Back-To-Berkeley Redux Leather Boot

The Back-To-Berkeley Redux Men's Leather Boot is The North Face's answer to the question, "if I don't know where I'm going today, what shoes should I wear?" Classic, casual style, courtesy of the waterproof leather upper and contrast stitching, meets up with Redux's waterproof HydroSeal waterproof membrane and PrimaLoft insulation to create a boot that's at home just about anywhere you choose to go. It's comfy, too, with an OrthoLite ReBound footbed and cushy EVA midsole, and at home on wintery ground, since The North Face hooked it up with a Winter Grip rubber sole that's complete with temperature-sensitive IcePick lugs, so you'll have bomber footing on snow, dirt, and slippery sidewalks.

    • Full-grain leather uppers offer durable, lasting style
    • Waterproof membrane keeps your feet dry on wet city streets
    • 100g synthetic insulation offers warmth in winter weather
    • Cushy footbed and midsole cradles your feet in plenty of comfort
    • Outsoles designed for optimum grip on slick icy sidewalks
    • Lace closure provides a secure, adjustable fit
    • Item #TNF01VZ

The most comfortable boots I've ever worn! I usually go for a wide size, but these are normal and feel great.

    Good Boots

    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 11.5 M
    • Height: 6'1"
    • Weight: 195lbs

I bought these because I work in an office where most people wear suits or nice casual clothes. I liked them because they didn't look clunky or have all sorts of lines and spaces like typical hiking boots have. They fit very nicely, true to my size. They have been very comfortable, no break-in required. They're waterproof, and I have worn them several times in snow and slush, and my feet stayed dry. They're a nice go-to boot for just knocking around or day hiking. They do get a bit warm during extended walking.

    Great Boots

These boots have been great after the first year of use. They are for the most part waterproof; I walked briefly in a stream and didn't get wet. Also, they seem to breathe fairly well. I took down one star because I dislike the way it laces too high up the tongue. As another reviewer said, if you lace them up to the top then the lace often slides off the tongue and rubs against your ankle. I just think they could've designed it a bit better.
Overall great product and took absolutely zero break-in time.

    Stylish warm townie boots

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: 9.5
    • Height: 5'10"
    • Weight: 170lbs

I bought these for tromping around in town during the winter. My feet stay dry and warm while still looking good.

The insulation is a good balance between keeping your feet warm when outside and not roasting your feet. These have rocked for those cold or slush days.
These boots are closer to burly tennis shoes than full hiking boots. This is perfect for what I wanted them for, but could be disappointing if you're looking for a full winter boot.

Runs about a half size large. I typically wear a 9.5 which is good with thick socks, but with thinner socks I have a bit of extra room.

    great winter boot

very comfortable, waterproof and good looking! it fits slightly large but other than that these have been fantastic boots.

    Trustworthy winter hiking boots

I got these for the holidays and immediately took them out to hikes in Sequoia and Kings NP. I hiked the High Sierra trail from Crescent Meadows to Bearpaw meadow which is around 9 mi. The trail had snow and ice . These shoes did not slip a bit . These shoes also did not need to be broken in. Also did I mention that these were awesome for long drives unlike other hiking shoes . I trust these shoes so much now that I have taken my infant son on icy trails wearing these.

      Quality Boot!

What can I say…whether I’m walking on campus at Berkeley or walking some of the most beautiful terrain along the Wasatch front, these kicks have me covered. The snow just fell for the first time this season and much of it turned to ice the next morning. Aside from the classic casual look (which is timeless) my favorite feature of this boot is the temperature-sensitive ice pick lug sole. I can literally feel the sole gripping the mix of pavement and ice as I walk. I feel as sure footed as I do in the summer walking around town. They’re true to size and as comfortable as can be.

      Good Boots

      • Fit: True to size

My bf isn't one to pay attention to what he's wearing, and usually just grabs whatever shoes are nearest to the door whatever the weather. I got him these shoes so he has an all-purpose shoe for winter. He says they are very comfortable and look good, and can be worn to work, to shovel or walk around in snow, or just casually

      Nice boots

Just got these boots and they look and feel fantastic! They are a little narrow in the middle, but I'm sure that will be fine once they're worn in. As soon as I got the boots, I poured water on them to see if they're water resistant and it works. It needs to be seen how they fare in rain or snow, but would definitely recommend to a friend.

      Comfy, solid boots!

      • Fit: True to size

Bought these boots to get to work in the snow and started wearing them in advance. Very comfy soles and solid fit. If you tie the laces at the very top hooks, then they will slide up and hit your ankle/leg, so you may need to hook them down and tie below. No water in these shoes and plenty warm in the cold.

      Absolutely love these boots

Boots fit me perfectly using the sites foot measurements for fitting. These boots are super comfortable for hiking or just for casually wearing around. My feet never got wet or cold even trekking through snow. Got me through a cold and icy winter in Alaska.

Sizing a bit off for me

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Height: 6'2"
      • Weight: 172lbs

Overall a really cool looking boot but I found them to run large and even when sizing down, couldnt dial in the size. I have flat feet to be fair so my sizing seems to always be an issue. Take it for what its worth.

      Great boots!

These boots are awesome for the cold weather up north. I wouldn't recommend wearing them on hot day as they do get quite warm (even with thin socks!). However if it's cold outside I would recommend thicker socks. Plus I found them to be very comfortable for walking (Even in mud.). Overall great casual and winter boot. 10 out of 10.

      Great boots!

What's the difference between this pair of shoes and the one without "Redux?"

Didn't see an obvious difference after comparing the specs and description.

      Hey Ian,

The main difference is going to be the leather material in the upper. The Redux feature a full grain leather and the standard back to berkeley features a PU coated Mesh and Suede upper. I find the Redux to be more supple in the upper. Let me know if you have other questions.
