I got this jacket for my husband as a Christmas Gift, I gave to him several gifts but this one was his favourite. The jacket have very cool features, the material is out of this world and keeps my husband warm even in the Boston winter, that's pretty heavy. The cut of the jacket is kinda short which is nice if you drive a lot, some long jackets are uncomfortable because they roll over when it comes to sit down in the car. With this one you won't have that issue. My husband has a slim figure and athletic body, 152 lbs, waist of 29 inches but wide in the shoulder so I got a size M and it fitted perfectly with enough space to wear layers underneath. The shipping was phenomenal, this was my first purchase with Backcountry.com and the shopping experience was very smooth, definitely I will be shopping with them in the near future.

This is a great down jacket but on the lighter side. It falls an inch or two below the waist line, so it's a "jacket" cut, not a hip-length super warm coat, nice and stylish. The hood is great, and it is not helmet-sized so it keeps the breeze out. I'm in Chicago, so I'm not sure what the other reviewers mean when they say it is good for super cold weather. It's a light jacket. If you wear a fleece under it, it's probably good to 32F, not much lower. I have experienced leakage of tiny down feathers from the seams, probably more at first and then less so over time. I like it, honestly it is a good jacket for the price and warmth. I'm 180lbs 5'9". The cut is not super athletic but it is a little bit of a trim fit so if you have a big beer gut you might want to size up.

I got this coat at the beginning of February and have worn it many times. Upon arrival the coat looks good and fits very well. It’s fairly warm and I have felt comfortable on days with the temperature in the 20s. The disappointing part is that it leaks feathers very badly from the seams and through the fabric. If I could, I would return it.

This jacket is awesome. First of all, it's lightweight so you can literally take it everywhere. Second, the 550-fill down insulation keeps you warm during the coldest winter days. And third, the hand pockets are a perfect size to keep your fingers toasty.

I've had this for a year now. This is a great coat for when it's about 15 degrees and warmer. When it's under 15 I usually layer it. When I wear a lighter down coat underneath it I'm warm in subzero temperatures. This coat only hits at the waist so if it's really cold you'll need some fleece lined pants to wear with it.

Moved from San Diego to Portland in October and needed a warm jacket. After trying on some Patagonia jackets at REI for twice the price, I opted for this one. I actually like the Northface jacket better even considering the price. It fits great, is super lightweight and packable, and fairly stylish. After having it for several months and wearing it regularly, it seems to be very well made and it has kept is puffiness and insulation consistent to when it was new. I feel like this will be a part of my winter wardrobe for years to come!

It took forever but I'm glad I found a new winter coat. The aconcagua jacket is a nice basic down coat. With a hoodie on underneath I can wear this in temperatures in the teens and not be cold. It's got a loose fit which I like because I have the option of layering in colder weather. And the length is nice--it hits a little below the waist. All-in-all a really nice coat for the price.

I really like my new jacket. Although I bought it for my daily walks, I now wear it everywhere.. It is lightweight but very warm.Stylish and I don't feel like like I am standing in a ski lift line-although I could ! I made a very good choice and Dan was very helpful. I will shop Backcountry again.

The fit for me is good at 5'8" and 220lbs the XXL fits very well. Just enough room for layers if needed. It is quite warm on it's own so I have not had to worry about layers. I have been out in 0 to -20 Fahrenheit with only the coat and was not cold. The only change I would make is to line the pockets with fleece.
