This is a great knife and The James Brand certainly makes it feel special from the get go. Unboxing this is akin to unboxing an iPhone. It slides out of it's outer packaging embedded in a wooden block (as pictured in my photo). Right away, it feels like youâre holding something of true quality. The outer packaging then prompts you with a âfirst cutâ to unravel it and read the design and brand details on the inside. Definitely a pretty cool experience before even truly using the knife.
The tech-specs mention the blade length is about 2.5 inches. What they donât mention is that the handle length is 3.5 inches, combining for a total of 6 inches in length when in use. Itâs definitely not a big burly knife, but is perfect for everyday situations. Iâll use it to open boxes, cut an old lift ticket off my ski pants, fix a crappy shoe lace, etc. I appreciate that itâs small enough that I donât even feel it in my pocket, but sharp and durable enough to stand up to larger tasks if needed.
I honestly never thought Iâd be one of those knife guys, but now I canât imagine leaving the house in the morning without it. I literally use it at least a couple times a day. Itâs one of those things you never think youâd use until you actually have it and realize how handy it is. This is a no frills knife â but itâs certainly simple, clean, and classic. You know they say the knife you carry is a reflection of who you are ;)
