It's a fact of life that not all of us are blessed with brown-pow and hero dirt in our home towns. Some of us live in places where sandy conditions are the norm, and we make do with what we've got, just happy to get out on a bike and spin our legs on the local trails. The problem is, most tires are built with rocky and rooty trails in mind, loamy dirt, and sometimes hard pack, but rarely are they built to dominate completely loose conditions and float through sand pits with ease. We welcome the Teravail Coronado 27+ tire to the menu, as we've been long missing this piece of the puzzle.
At 3-inches wide, the Coronado 27.5+ carries a large footprint that works to disperse weight and aid in floatation in loose conditions. With mild and open lugs through the center tread pattern, allowing for quick rolling floatation, and more aggressive knobs on the side to lock you in on corners you'll keep propelling forward through the loose stuff. With the girth of plus tires comes lower PSI, a more plush feel that adds a certain smoothness to your ride, and the ability to roll over anything in your way, rocks, branches, and sand. Enforced with Aramid fibers, the sidewall receives reinforcement that's claimed to be tougher than KEVLAR for a huge boost in durability against puncture and abrasion. Roll your sandy desert trails with confidence, and bomb down beachside berms with the grip you've been missing.
