Ito 13-14ft 7in - Set

If you've ever wished for an extra inch or two in rod length when you're fishing a high-mountain stream, turn to the Tenkara Ito 13-14ft 7in Set. The newest and longest rod in the Tenkara lineup, this innovative rod features a Zoom function which allows you to lock one segment of the rod in place to fish the rod either at its 13ft length or, fully extended, at 14ft 7in. The zoom locks both at the butt of the rod with a proprietary cap, and at the end of the handle segment. With its extension capability, this versatile rod is a true asset in any mountain stream, even some of the smaller ones.

Classified as a 6:4 action rod, the Ito is a softer rod when compared to the Ayu fly rod and is designed to catch your average 8- to 16-inch mountain stream trout. Although it has tackled a 19-inch trout without a problem during Tenkara testing, it's not recommended for targeting large fish. This unique rod works extremely well with 3.5 level line up to 25ft and a little wind, with either traditional line, and can be fished well with 4.5 level line up to 20ft.

With its telescopic closure, the Ito collapses down which makes it super-easy to transport when you backpack into the backcountry, travel, or hike to high-mountain streams or lakes. Thanks to its high-quality composite fiber material, the Ito has strong, durable components that last. Its finish is also exquisite and features a matte black with a gradient dark blue block at the end of each segment.

For convenience, the Ito Set includes a Tenkara Ito 13-14ft 7in rod, a spool of tenkara 3.5 level line in either high-visibility pink or orange, a tenkara line holder, and three flies. Due to the nature of Tenkara-style fly fishing, a fly reel is not needed. This traditional Japanese method of fly fishing only uses a rod, line, and fly, which makes it particularly well-suited for stream fishing and for anyone looking for a simpler way to fly-fish.
