Zero G Tour Pro Alpine Touring Boot
The Zero G Tour Pro Alpine Touring Boot is Tecnica's premier ski boot for backcountry skiing. Each boot weighs under three pounds, and still accomplishes the stiffest 130 flex through a carbon, co-injected Grilamid cuff and a burly walk mode latch. Unlike most ultralight ski boots, the Zero G features a new double-blocking, self-adjusting cuff that reduces every kind of play for a locked in feel. Four light Magnesium buckles and a slimmer power strap solidify the boot's secure fit, and Tecnica designed the cuff's buckles so you can latch them on the ascent.
Tecnica built the boot's shell out of Grilamid for its balances between stiffness, durability, and lightness. The Ultralight Fit liner has a comfortable fit right out of the box, and it's backed with a waterproof, breathable membrane to stay comfy when you're boot-packing through knee-deep powder. The rockered sole promotes boot-packs, rocky ascents, and even glacier traverses thanks to the full-length, grip- and abrasion-resistant Vibram rubber. Unlatched, the Zero G boasts a massive 55° of cuff rotation to provide the easiest ascent possible. It's compatible with tech bindings.

Skis/walks great but durability issues
- I've used it several times
Have skied these boots both inbounds and out a couple times now, and really really like them. In my opinion, they are not as stiff as the S-Lab MTN (MTN labs), but walk significantly better (especially forward ROM). A little looser in the heel, and slightly higher volume overall. Skinny calf people beware, I have the calf buckles as tight as they will go (moved the buckle clips AND micro adjust dialed all the way down) and I can still flip the buckles with just one finger. Looking into maybe drilling out a third hole to make calf closure even tighter. One really bad thing to report though that is potentially a deal breaker: just yesterday I snapped BOTH wire buckles in one day. Hoping this is just bad QA and not a design flaw, and that warranty will take care of me. If not, Iâll be really bummed and not buying touring boots from them again. Overall, this boot skis wonderfully, walks really really well, but has some issues with durability of the buckles and fit for those with skinny ankles/calves. I'll update the review appropriately if warranty takes care of me and if I don't see the same thing happen again. If Tecnica can't take care of me, I'm sure Backcountry will since I purchased through them, however attempting to resolve the issue through Tecnica first since they might be able to just send me new buckles.

Alpinist Boot with Performance?
- I've put it through the wringer
I've never been a fan of these minimalist boots that crush the uphill BUT suck on the downhill. I love skiing more than walking but on longer missions (8 hour days of +6k feet of vert) having a boot this light is extremely important. To my surprise this boot skis like a real boot thanks to the added forward lean 99.9% of touring boots disregard. I love mine and can't wait to use them tomorrow.

Product is awesome. Stiff. Comfortable. By far one of the best boots on the market. Extremely workable shell. Backcountry.com is average at best. Product came scratched, not packaged correctly. Missing parts. This is clearly a function of how they run their business, with customers trying on goods onsite and returning goods back to unattended desk. Quality control is poor.
