Cochise 120 DYN Ski Boot

The Men's Cochise 120 DYN Ski Boot is Tecnica's second-stiffest all-mountain and free ride boot, giving you the option to ride lifts all day or head out into the backcountry, and it's as aggressive on the downhill as it is comfy on the uphill. Its Custom Adaptive Shape (C.A.S.) construction customizes the shell and liner to your foot's shape. Boot-fitters can pack out the dimpled shell easier, and the they can mold the liner through a quick-and-easy heating process. By creating such a comfortable fit, Tecnica designed the Cochise with a moderately narrow 99 last that optimizes precision for the downhill. The Power Light Design is 30% thinner and 2.5 times stiffer than conventional boot material, and the Vibram rubber sole assists with traction when you're hiking rockier terrain.

  • A lightweight all-mountain boot for the resort or backcountry
  • Stiff flex ideal for intermediate to advanced skiers
  • Average last provides a performance fit for mid-volume feet
  • Customizable liner delivers an anatomic and precise shape
  • Anatomically shaped shell can be heat molded for a perfect fit
  • Walk mode adds mobility to skin tracks, boot packs, and parking lots
  • 45mm power strap locks down the tongue for a responsive fit
  • Vibram outsoles grip well during rocky backcountry ascents

Great Fit and Performance

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I've skied roughly 10 days in this boot now and I'm sold! I initially tried this on next to the Lange XT boot and I found the 99mm last on the Cochise to be a better fit for my foot. I would say I have an average width foot with a slightly higher instep and after a quick heating of the liner, the Cochise fit like a glove and didn't require any shell work. I chose to go with the Cochise 120 because I felt like I didn't need a 130 flex and wanted to save a little cash for beers and fries. I'm glad I stuck with a 120 as I feel like this boot has plenty of stiffness and skis inbounds great, which is what I will be doing 90% of the time. I've been out for a couple of shorter hikes in the boot and feel like it has plenty of range while touring. It's not the lightest boot I've tried on but I'd rather sacrifice a little weight for performance any day! If you're like me and appreciate fit and performance over weight and range of motion, give the Cochise boot a shot and I think you will be impressed.
