Burly rubber bands to make tuning easier. Don't think these will snap anytime soon

These bands are a must have for your ski tuning bench setup! They are cheap and so handy!

Works Great

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

These make DIY tuning a breeze. Definitely a must have to do the job right and not have to mcguyver some home remedy. Only 4 stars since mine only lasted one winter before dry rotting and snapping, but for the cheap cost, it is worth it.

Super plastic bands

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Works great for holding breaks back. A little too tight to be 5 stars, but its not too hard to make it work.

Makes Tuning a Breeze

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Had tuned for a few years without these and it's nice to not have to worry about your brakes when you're waxing or scraping.

They do exactly what they should do

Strong hold and easy to use.

>Rating: 5

Convenient

These work well. They are durable and easy to use.

>Rating: 5

Works Perfect

They are heavy duty rubber bands that work perfectly. I should have spent the 4 bucks on these a long time ago. Just buy them you will not regret it.

Rubber bands on steroids (in a good way)

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Ever used hair bands to hold your brakes out of the way for tuning? Forget it! These babies do the heavy lifting and don't break a sweat. You'll never have to worry about your keepers breaking again. Just get 'em!

These make it a whole lot easier

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I have tried everything from a shoelace to just manually holding down the brakes while I wax. Needless to say, these make it far easier.

must have item

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

These brake retainers are a must have item for your tool kit and will work just as well on narrower carving skis and fatty pow slayers. I also use them for all sorts of non-ski related projects in the garage since they're much more durable than a regular band.

essential!

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

After multiple waxing sessions trying to tame my brakes with zip ties, elastic headbands, produce rubberbands, and whatever else I could come up with, I finally decided to "invest" in these (they cost about as much as a fancy latte!) These do the job perfectly and are an essential in any ski tuning kit.

Must have in the tuning kit

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

These are a must if you're going to be doing any kind of waxing at home. They're strong, durable, and make quick work of holding your brakes out of the way. I've had one pair for the last three seasons and have never had an issue with them breaking or tearing. I've also used Voile straps for the job, but these rubber bands are a lot easier to deal with unless you happen to have a third hand.

Better than an orthodontic retainer

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

While it may seem silly to pay $5 for rubber bands, it is totally worth it. Skip your Starbucks. Bike to work. Go back to a diet of Ramen and peanut butter. You'll find a way to save that $5. These rubber bands are burly, easy to use, and make tuning skis much easier. Get those pesky brakes out of the way once and for all! Ben brabinowitz@backcountry.com 801-746-7564

Rubber Bands On Steroids

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Tuning your own skis? Good luck doing it without these babies. Get an extra pair in case you snap them... but you probably won't.

Want to do your own waxing or tunes?

Yeah, you are going to need these too. I have used old MTB inner tubes cut 1" wide and used them the same way. Especially if I am doing a multitude of skis at once. When waxing or tuning skis it is about easy repetition. having all the skis you are going to wax at once with the brakes out of the way makes it go much easier. These are great for keeping your ski brakes out of the way.

Solid Retainer

These are great and far surpass any other thing I have tried(Office bands, hair bands, broccoli bands etc) well worth the $ as these hold up and do not break.

Why do rubber bands cost $15

Why do rubber bands cost $15

Vacuum belts work just as well my manAdded: I went to my local ski store and they gave me about 10 bands for free, with that in mind, I wouldn't pay more than a dollar per band.
