    Save yourself some beer money.

Your buddy at the ski shop appreciates the beer, but let's face it, his taste for fine ales is making the cost a little steep. Enjoy those brews yourself when you treat your skis to a nice hot wax with the Swix Economy Waxing Iron. The easy-to-read temperature dial adjusts from 100 to 150 degrees Celsius to accommodate the varying temperatures of cold and warm waxes, and a temperature indicator light keeps you from burning a flat spot in your bases. Plug this bad-boy into the wall, set it down on the cleverly designed flat spot below the handle, and crank some classic rock until it's time to tune.

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have used quite a few irons from different brands, and this is my favorite for sure. Build quality is great, and does exactly what you expect it to do. Just add it to your cart, you won't be disappointed.

    Suprise! It melts wax

This is a great little iron perfect for the newbie tuner or the seasoned racer. Great for the price, easy to use, and very consistent! What more can you want?

This thing is the best bang for your buck. If you're not a deer valley ski racer, this little guy will melt all the wax you'll ever need on your slippery ol bases and have you going mach 10 down the dang bunny slope

    Happy bases and fast skis!

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I finally replaced my very very old waxing iron and this one works great! It heats up very quick and works well with Swix wax.

    Economy Waxing Irion

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Consistent iron that functions as it should. Melts wax with the best of them. Simple to use, user friendly, with a nice smooth hotplate.
This is a no brainer for waxing ski's/boards at home.

Temp wheel is in a bad place

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I can't believe I used a clothing iron for like 17 years before buying a proper wax iron. Seriously, if you're still wasting tons of wax by letting it build up in the steam holes of your granny iron rather than the wax evenly spreading on to your base: buy this iron.
It's not the most expensive wax iron in the business but I'm also not an Olympic wax-tech so I'm ok fidgeting with its biggest shortcoming which is that the temperature setting marker is directly under the handle which makes it hard to see exactly what temp it's set on. But my iron seems like it has a +/- variance of about 10 degrees Fahrenheit anyway so I just mess with the dile a little bit until I don't get any smoke and everything is fine.
I wouldn't buy a more expensive iron than this if I had to get another one.

Wax Your Skis and Go Fast

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I gave this to my pops to upgrade his old clothes iron that he's been stuck using for waxing purposes, and he's stoked! The temperature control is super easy to use- heats up quickly and keeps temperature without any issue. The plate is excellent- SO nice to not have the silly little holes on the clothing iron that holds wax. All in all it's been holding up great so far. Honestly in all of my years waxing, I don't see the reason to get the super expensive iron for recreational purposes when this one works so well!

Better than ruining your clothes iron

You can spend a pretty penny on a waxing iron, but at the end of the day its just going to melt some wax... This iron is very easy to use, heats up quickly, and holds the heat steady enough for a good wax. The dial can be a little hard to read since the indicator arrow is directly under the handle, but it's easy to tell based on quickly the wax melts (and make smokes a bit) if you need to turn it up or down. I've used this iron for a couple of seasons and it's holding up ok. There are a couple of minor scratches on the wax plate but nothing major enough to screw up your skis. I haven't been super gentle with how I store the iron - it just lives in a plastic tote box with all of my way and other tools, so I'm not surprised that it's got some scratches on it
